About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Embedded Software Manager to lead our cross-functional engineering teams and drive the development of exceptional consumer electronics products. As a key member of our software organization, you will be responsible for managing a team of technical leaders, driving day-to-day activities, and overseeing the delivery of best-in-class end-to-end software releases.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Manage a team of embedded software technical leaders and drive cross-functional engineering teams.
  2. Manage resources, including hiring, mentoring, and continuous improvement.
  3. Utilize deep embedded software experience to drive best-in-class end-to-end software releases and deliverables on-time.
  4. Work with staff and peers to develop short and long-term plans, manage resourcing, prioritization, and schedules.
  5. Develop a deep understanding of underlying SW/HW architecture and ensure engineering/test approaches fit in the overall strategy.
  6. Collaborate with software architects, product management, external software teams, and cross-functional engineering teams to ensure all teams are in sync and delivering products/features to market on time.
About You
  1. 10+ years in an end-to-end cross-functional technical leadership role with defined design requirements and cost estimates.
  2. 5+ years of managerial experience with demonstrated success in building, leading, and nurturing high-performing teams.
  3. Led teams in synergy and built leadership with effective communications up and down, within organization, across disciplines, and across regions.
  4. Experience driving a test-driven development process on engineering teams.
  5. Ability to lead teams and delegate appropriately.
  6. Works collaboratively with other managers and teams to identify and solve problems.
  7. Experience with C or C++ in an embedded system, including Linux and Android natives.
  8. Experience with complex embedded software in a resource-limited RTOS-based system.
  9. Experience with Bluetooth or other wireless communication protocols is a plus.
  10. Strong systems-level thinker across hardware, software, user experience, etc.
  11. Has led a team delivering firmware for at least one product successfully launched into mass production.
  12. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Requirements
  • BSEE/BSCS/BSCE (MS preferred) with at least 10 years related work experience.
Estimated Salary

The estimated salary for this position is $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
