Senior Optics Engineer

YOUR TASKS

  • Analyzing, clarifying,
    and defining the lighting requirements based on the existing
    specifications and existing CAD data in coordination with involved bodies.
  • Calculating and defining
    optical geometries, e. g. Head Lamp, Rear Combination Lamp components,
    Signal functions for series development and preliminary development close
    to series production, using photometric simulations, evaluating and
    forwarding the results to Technical Design and/or to other internal and
    external positions and deriving any design measures that may be necessary.
  • Providing data to
    downstream users, complying with Hella data security requirements.
  • Supporting preparation of
    light samples, photometric components and prototypes in agreement with the
    superior and the posts involved.
  • Actively participating in
    product evaluation, problem resolution and feedback relevant information
    into the design process.
  • Supporting optic design
    activities, and support project team activities.
  • Participating in customer
    meetings and homogeneity evaluations under the guidance of superior.
  • Proposing innovative
    optics concepts and timely converting into patents.
A Project planning
1 Clarifying design
requirements with the customer in the form of specified project
descriptions, analyzing design expenditure in agreement with the
responsible superior
2 Agreeing and following
up targets for device design with the project manager in terms of quality,
costs and timing taking existing processes and methods into consideration
in agreement with the superior
3 Planning, coordinating
and controlling design tasks by applying prescribed methods and systems
(incl. Time to Market process)
4 Involving internal and
external services if necessary, taking economic, qualitative and
scheduling points of view into consideration in agreement with the
superior
5 Involvement in defined
escalation scenarios whenever deviations from targets occur in device
design
6 Ensuring that defined
technical standards are being observed within the context of design;
involving Preliminary Development and Production Technology in the
agreement of product concepts and technological alternatives

1 Preparation of a
performance specification based on the existing requirement specification
2 Working out design
drafts based on CAD data provided by the customer regarding device design,
taking technical and economic aspects into account
3 Drawing up design

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor or higher Degree
    in Engineering/ Optics/ Physics
  • More than 3 years'
    automotive optic design experience
  • Proficient with CATIA or
    other advanced CAD system, and optical design software such as SPEOS,
    LucidShape.
  • Proficient with optical
    design of different signal function concepts.
  • Proficient with
    regulations of CCC/ ECE/ FMVSS 108
  • Good Chinese and English
    communication skill, presentation skill.
