Roles and Responsibilities

  • Be an active business partner to GEHC China HFS business and BD team, providing ongoing legal advice to business and working with business to identify strategic opportunities to increase growth/reduce costs in a highly regulated environment.
  • Drive projects, transactions, new scheme feasibility study to move forward, with flexibility and solution provider mindset.
  • Oversee emerging risks as well as corrective actions, and implement strategies that will protect the business and manage business risk.
  • Support compliance investigations and compliance projects as appropriate
  • Monitor disputes and litigations and supervise external counsels with controlled budget.
  • Anticipate and drive solutions for unassigned legal and business issues and growth initiatives.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Attorney qualification in China.
  • Attorney qualification in other countries (U.S., U.K, etc.) is a plus.
  • A minimum of 10 years of business law experience at a large international law firm and/or a multinational corporation's legal department, including drafting, negotiating, and closing complex business transactions in a regulated environment.
  • Experiences in JV and M&A transactions, PE/VC investments, and/or financial leasing are required.
  • Expertise in anti-trust and/or litigation is a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience identifying and resolving complex legal issues quickly and effectively.
  • Demonstrated experience prioritizing conflicting demands from multiple business clients in an extremely fast-paced environment.
  • Experience of the Healthcare industry and previous exposure to medical industry regulations is preferable.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in both English and Chinese.
