About the Role

A lead and architectural role in mechanical for product development. Will work closely with the business team to define product requirements/specifications based on market requirement and to architect the product design and development meeting the feature & quality expectation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead product feasibility study and architectural design
  • Lead product and feature development
  • To define ME system/robustness test and guide test team perform test verifications to ensure the designs comply with product requirement.
  • To drive ME deliverables and meet the major project milestone and to ensure the product shipping on schedule.
  • To work with cross functional team members within the organization and customers with different cultures and comfortable to work with virtual team members from remote sites.
  • Organize team activities in mechanical architecture design, parts design and validation.
  • Ensure design schedule, prototype builds, cost and quality goals are met
  • Lead a team of engineers and/or designers through different phases of the product development.

Qualifications

  • Mechanical engineering degree holder or equivalent degree from a recognized university. Higher degree is preferred.
  • Min 7 years' experience in Product Development environment.
  • Knowledgeable in emerging technologies, state of art mechanical design, material/tooling trend including but not limited to mobile, automotive and medical industries.
  • Knowledge on materials, processes and simulation.
  • Proven experience in providing technical solutions on product design. Experience to architect full mechanical structure with multiple electrical-mechanical parts.
  • Excellent communication and people skills with the ability to see assignments through to completion with minimal oversight. Good communication and influencing skills to work across the functional team.
  • Proficiency with Pro-E design tools
  • Familiarize with international ME test standard such as MIL standard etc.
  • Prior experience in mobile, automotive, medical devices is added advantage.
