This challenging position offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge sensor technologies embedded in smartphones, automotive systems, IOT devices, XR/AR devices, smartwatches as well as other consumer electronics.Job activities span the entire product life cycle, from early R&D to commercial deployment. Providing system-level technical customer support for launching new ML-based personalization features is an essential part of the role.Data engineering responsibilities include scripting, tool development, and contributing to data processing pipelines, while also offering opportunities for hands-on field work to manage data collection campaigns critical for new feature development.The successful candidate will collaborate with systems, software, and integration/test engineers in the QCT Sensors group.Job responsibilities include:Working with global systems, software, integration and test teams to support development and commercialization of sensor algorithms and features.Analyzing customer logs, providing technical guidance for customers during their feature evaluation and commercialization phase.Sensor feature commercialization support in form factor devices including algorithm performance validation, customer data wrangling and direct customer triage support.Scripting and tool development using Matlab, Python, C and related data pre-processing libraries.Organizing and managing data collection campaigns within Qualcomm employees in China and participating to the various field data collection campaigns.Contribute to the design of comprehensive end-to-end ETL data processing pipelines: ingestion, transformation, and delivery to Data Lake.Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data workflows in production.Creating detailed reports on algorithm evaluation results and summarizing key performance metrics and the recommended areas of improvement.Benchmarking sensor related features across commercial products.The position is technology focused and involves participation in a broad range of sensors systems engineering activities within the Sensors Technologies group.The role contains occasional travel, physical/sports activities, and handling of objects with significant weight.Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Computer Engineering/Science, or related field2+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.Preferred QualificationsMaster's degree in electrical engineering, SW engineering, Computer Engineering/Science, or related field2+ years of experience in the following areas:Highly organized and detail-oriented, with outstanding system level analytical skills and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced global team environment.Hands-on professional experience with embedded systems, preferably those integrating sensors.Strong programming skills in Python (3+) including libraries such as Pandas and XlsxWriter, and MATLAB; previous experience with C is a plus.Fluency with Git and GitHub.Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.Familiarity with AWS SageMaker, Microsoft Graph API, and SharePoint APIs is preferred.Ability to work in a multi-OS environment, including Ubuntu Linux and Windows 11.Proficiency with Linux for building automation tools.Knowledge of digital signal processing, probability, statistics, and machine learning.Understanding of MEMS and inertial, environmental, and physiological sensors, along with prior experience using associated characterization equipment.Basic understanding of audio sensors, camera sensors, and wireless radios (Bluetooth, WLAN, GNSS, cellular) in mobile devices is highly beneficial.Previous experience with Linux Embedded, Android (Linux-based), Wear OS, iOS, and Windows mobile devices.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with strong written and verbal English proficiency.Educational RequirementsBachelor's or master's in electrical or computer engineering or equivalent.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.ORMaster's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 1+ year of Systems Engineering or related work experience.ORPhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.Qualcomm is an equal opportunity employer.
