Job Description

The FPU Project Manager is responsible for leading, coordinating, and executing all phases of Floating Production Unit (FPU) projects, from concept and engineering through procurement, construction, installation, commissioning, and handover. This role ensures that project objectives are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with technical specifications, regulatory requirements, and company standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage project execution plans, schedules, budgets, and risk assessments.
  • Oversee all engineering, procurement, fabrication, and offshore installation activities.
  • Coordinate multi-disciplinary teams and ensure effective communication between stakeholders.
  • Ensure technical compliance with classification societies, industry standards, and client specifications.
  • Review and approve engineering deliverables, technical reports, and design documents.
  • Monitor technical interfaces between topsides, hull, mooring systems, subsea equipment, and other project components.
  • Manage EPC/EPCI contractors, suppliers, and subcontractors.
  • Negotiate contracts, evaluate bids, and ensure vendor performance aligns with project requirements.
  • Monitor procurement progress and ensure timely delivery of critical equipment.
  • Ensure that all project activities adhere to HSE policies and best practices.
  • Promote a strong safety culture throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and operational standards.
  • Track project expenditures and manage cost forecasts.
  • Identify and mitigate cost overruns and schedule deviations.
  • Report financial performance to senior management.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients, partners, and regulatory authorities.
  • Prepare and deliver project progress reports, presentations, and documentation.
  • Address and resolve conflicts, technical challenges, or delays.
  • Lead pre-commissioning, commissioning, and offshore integration activities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Marine, Offshore, or related fields).
  • 8–15+ years of experience in offshore oil & gas, FPSO/FPU/FLNG, or major EPCI projects.
  • Strong knowledge of offshore engineering, naval architecture, and project management methodologies.
  • Experience with classification societies (ABS, DNV, BV) and offshore regulatory frameworks.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
