Qualifications & Certifications

  • Bachelors degree in engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field from a recognized Chinese university or an equivalent international institution. A masters degree is preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum of  years of experience in project planning and scheduling within the EPC industry, with a strong focus on Oil & Gas projects. Experience in the Chinese EPC market is preferred.

Skill / Attributes / Competencies

  • Technical Skills: Proficient in project scheduling software such as Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project. Familiarity with SAP or similar ERP systems is an advantage.
  • Knowledge: In-depth understanding of project management principles, scheduling techniques, and industry standards specific to chemical projects.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Mandarin and English, with the ability to effectively interact with project teams, clients, and senior management.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess project performance and implement corrective actions.
  • Leadership: Proven leadership abilities, with experience in managing and mentoring planning teams.
  • Certification: Professional certifications such as Project Management Professional (PMP) or AACE Internationals Planning & Scheduling Professional (PSP) are highly desirable.

Responsibilities and Other Skills

  • Project Scheduling: Develop, maintain, and update detailed project schedules using industry-standard software (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project).
  • Baseline Management: Establish and maintain project baselines, ensuring alignment with project objectives and milestones.
  • Progress Tracking: Monitor project progress, identify variances, and recommend corrective actions to keep projects on track.
  • Coordination: Coordinate with project managers, engineers, procurement teams, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information for schedule development and updates.
  • Risk Analysis: Perform schedule risk analysis to identify potential delays and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present regular schedule status reports to project management and other stakeholders, highlighting critical paths and key project milestones.
  • Resource Allocation: Assist in the development of resource-loaded schedules, ensuring optimal utilization of project resources.
  • Change Management: Manage schedule changes and ensure that any modifications to project timelines are properly documented and communicated.
  • Continuous Improvement: Implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance scheduling processes and project delivery.
  • Mentoring: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior planning staff, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
