The CompanyThere is an exciting opportunity for a Post Doc, PhD or Masters student to get practical industry experience at Deallus China, a global Life Science competitive strategy consultancy. As a company, Deallus provides decision support to the pharmaceutical and biotech industry throughout their drug development and commercialisation process and we are currently looking for a smart, dynamic and enthusiastic individual to join us for a minimum 3-month internship.
The InternshipAs an Intern at Deallus you will be working as a team member with Associates and Consultants on a range of projects, supporting on activities from research through to proposal writing, giving you a strong exposure to the day-to-day running of a life science Consultancy. As an integral part of the team, we will help you develop valuable professional skills and you will participate fully on a range of projects. Personable and enthusiastic, your can do attitude will push you to go the extra mile.
The purpose of the internship is for those wanting a career in Life Sciences Consultancy and can be used as a stepping stone into a permanent role within the business. The learning curve will be steep and often challenging and you will get the support you need from a focused and dynamic team, but the professional rewards will be highly significant. We will provide training at the onset of your position to ensure that you can capitalise as best as possible on your time within our organisation.
Internship duration: We would be looking for someone to start as soon as possible for a minimum of 3 months. The successful candidate should be able to work onsite from our Shanghai based office for the duration of their internship for at least three to five working days per week. We will consider remote working but please make this clear in your application.
Desired Skills & ExperienceEssential:Final 6 months of program in a postgraduate or Master's degree in the bio-medical or life sciencesStrong Microsoft office skills including Word, PowerPoint and ExcelHighly effective communicator, confident and assertive when necessaryInterest in business and/or commercial acumenStrategic problem solving skillsQuick learner and a strong sense of initiativeProven written and oral communication and presentation skillsDriven, completer-finisherStrong team playerDesirable:Good knowledge of and application of pharmaceutical research resourcesPharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical marketing or market research experienceStrategy consulting experienceUnderstanding of market/financial analysis in context of Life Sciences business needsKey AccountabilitiesPrimary research transcript collectionMarketing activity support (Online and offline)Secondary researchDeallus promotional platform supportPPT design/ video designMeeting minutesAd hoc support when required both locally and globallyThe LearningsBusiness AcumenBuilding on your academic knowledge, the internship will provide you with a unique perspective into the inner workings of the Life Sciences industry by providing you with a quickness and keenness in understanding and dealing with a business situation in a manner that is likely to lead to a strategic outcome. During your internship you will be exposed to the different stages of commercialisation, different therapy areas beyond your academic experiences and how Pharma companies operate.
Project ExperienceYou will be integral in the research aspect of the project and will be asked to contribute to the outputs and client insights. You will also grow your research skills in both Primary and Secondary research.
