The Senior Director, Head of China Business Operations will spearhead the overall strategic vision and operational direction of Blizzard's publishing business in the China market. They will be responsible for driving business growth, enhancing brand presence, and ensuring Blizzard's portfolio resonates with a diverse and dynamic player base through collaboration and alignment with our partners. This pivotal position requires a blend of visionary leadership, commercial acumen, operational experience, and a deep understanding of China's gaming ecosystem.


Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Leadership & Market Insights & Business Ownership
  • Develop and execute annual and long-term brand, marketing, and business strategies for the Chinese market, aligned with Blizzard's global vision and objectives.
  • Identify and evaluate emerging market trends, partnerships, and innovative opportunities to drive business growth and maintain competitive advantage.
  • Advise leadership on market trends, opportunities, and challenges to ensure continued success and adaptability in China.
  • Leverage analytics to surface player behaviors, market trends, and competitive intelligence, turning insights into actionable strategies.
  • Integrate local market insights into global product and publishing frameworks.
  • Lead strategic goals and execution to achieve the Company's regional financial aspirations.
Program & Product Management
  • Drive the planning, prioritization, and execution of key programs and product initiatives, ensuring alignment across local and global teams.
  • Establish governance and oversight for complex projects and initiatives, ensuring timely delivery, budget adherence, and measurable outcomes.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize business processes, implement new initiatives, and adopt innovative approaches to drive user acquisition, engagement, and retention.
  • Manage key strategic relationships with internal teams, partners, and stakeholders to coordinate the execution of growth initiatives.
Operations Management
  • Drive and influence Blizzard's China operations, including budgeting, resource allocation, and performance management.
  • Oversee the implementation of publishing, live service, and operational strategies with local partners and global teams.
  • Lead operational teams focused on scaling products and franchises while ensuring efficiency and excellence.
  • Define and track key performance indicators for initiatives and programs, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and business outcomes.
Team & Stakeholder Leadership
  • Build, mentor, and lead high-performing cross-functional teams, fostering innovation, accountability, and collaboration.
  • Influence and coordinate cross-functional teams globally, leveraging dotted-line relationships to drive results and ensure strategic alignment.
  • Drive alignment across partner and internal teams to deliver seamless and impactful brand experiences.
  • Serve as Blizzard's local voice and advocate for China-specific needs within global discussions.
  • Serve as a culture advocate for Blizzard China's business and operations teams.
Brand & Community Engagement
  • Act as a cultural ambassador for Blizzard's values and IPs within China, strengthening community engagement and brand loyalty.
  • Collaborate with partners to drive best-in-class product and service quality throughout the player lifecycle.
Minimum RequirementsExperience
  • Minimum 15 years experience in operations, strategy, or a related field.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, or a related field preferred.
  • Proven senior leadership experience in the gaming, entertainment and tech ecosystems, ideally with exposure and deep familiarity with China's unique market landscape.
  • Experience managing strategic relationships with internal and external partners to advance business priorities and organizational goals.
  • Experience leading large-scale business operations and long-term strategic planning to deliver measurable organizational impact.
  • Experience building, scaling, and developing multi-disciplinary teams, providing direct and dotted-line leadership to drive collaboration and accountability.

  • Excels at translating complex data and insights into actionable strategies, using analytical rigor and business acumen to inform decision-making and drive results
  • Outstanding communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of an organization.
  • Demonstrated success in designing and leading cross-organizational strategic initiatives while translating strategy and operational expertise into regional business results.
  • Strong organizational skills with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset and a passion for innovation.
  • Fluency in Mandarin Chinese and strong proficiency in English required for effective communication with local and global teams.
