The role will be located in Shanghai, responsible for, but not limited to, FAE lab test case/procedure definition and executing for TIMs materials based on customer application scenarios, designing and manufacturing related functions required by key account customers with minimum supervision. The role will focus on telecom/datacom/automotive/Industry mainly, but cover other markets when local support required.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute test plans to simulate customer application scenarios for TIM materials, EMI related would be a plus.
• Operate and maintain lab instruments for TIMs and generate test report, EMI related would be a plus.
• Accountable for thermal interface material, EMI, absorber, inductive components and other products or solutions promotion. Provide in-depth & hands-on technical support to responsible market & customers.
• Utilize all product offerings, providing and consolidate insightful and detailed design solutions.
• Drive prototype, tool build, and initial production build to meet customer timelines.
• Be responsible for customer application issue support, failure mode analysis and solve together by coordinating internal resources.
• Simultaneously set priorities/direction for multiple programs in development.
• Early and deeply engage with customer to understand customer requirements / market technical trend with necessary analysis. Clearly and efficiently deliver new product definition and overall competence improvement to internal engineering and marketing team.
• Adhere to quality and safety systems or maintenance of quality and safety standards.
• Support exhibition & other marketing promotion actions.
• Keep work-skills up to date to ensure Laird competitiveness in dynamic global business environment. May require extensive travel to customer sites.

Requirements

• Knowledge or experience in any of thermal interface materials, EMI products, power inductors and magnetic components will be necessary.
• Familiarity with industry-standard test methods (ASTM, IEEE, MIL-STD, etc) for thermal and EMI materials.
• Build lab capabilities including new equipment, processes and test methods where needed.
• Identify and develop opportunities for improvement and business gains, Excellent problem resolving capabilities & time management skills for multi-customer engagement .
• Conduct technical presentations at company meetings, technical conferences, and customer/partner facilities;
• High motivation and drive to succeed in challenging and rapidly changing environment.
• Skillfully in 3D modeling, thermal analysis, EMI simulation/testing, Finite element analysis process will be a plus.
• Accept around 20-30% travel of the time.

Education / Experience

• A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Applied Chemistry/Material Science/Chemical Engineering/ Chemical Analysis/Electronics Engineering or relevant.
• At least 3 years experience in telecom, datacom, automotive, industry or medical related applications.
• At least 2 year experience in application & product lab; Familiar with equipment management, daily EHS compliance and 5S management;
• In-depth understanding with equipment including but not limited to Rheology, EFD dispensing, Universal Testing Machine, thermal analysis, non-destructive analysis, device-scale application test;
• Self-motivated with application capability enhancement and innovative build-up new test method based on external resources;
• Strong background in problem solving, using multiple analytical procedures to identify and characterize product development barriers.
• Effectively communicate verbally and in writing to team members and management on all aspects of program activity. Excellent oral and written English communication skills.
• Experience/knowledge in related silicone, dispensing EMI, epoxy adhesive product, or automatic assembly& production line is preferred.
