Our global team collaborates across product lines to bring Apple products to life. We empower Hardware Engineering's R&D labs with world-class prototyping, characterization, and metrology equipment. We are seeking an experienced leader with outstanding attention to detail and a demonstrated ability to build strong, collaborative cross functional teams to oversee and elevate our lab operations in China.

Description
The Lab Manager role will be responsible for operational excellence across hardware engineering laboratories in multiple geographic markets. The role partners closely with diverse lab users, technical teams, and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure all spaces remain safe, clean, well-organized, and operationally efficient. In addition to managing day to day operations, this role provides testing and characterization support, drives alignment of capabilities and processes across locations, and collaborates with peer Lab Managers and engineering leaders to foster a consistent, complementary lab culture.

Minimum Qualifications
College degree or equivalent technical/vocational training preferred, with 5+ years of relevant experience in lab operations, engineering support, or related technical environments.

Experience with industrial facilities and basic equipment troubleshooting techniques.

Experience in electrical, reliability or mechanical testing in a lab environment.

Introductory knowledge of packaging materials, manufacturing processes and evaluation testing standards such as ASTM, TAPPI and ISTA.

English proficiency with strong written and interpersonal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications
Project or program management experience.

Experience directly leading / managing direct reports, temporary staff

Experience with mechanical test equipment, sensors and metrology (microscopes, thermocouples, small industrial robots/actuators, etc.)

Strong written and interpersonal communication skills

Proven ability to work cross-functionally, relate to technical partners, and balance the needs of multiple stakeholders concurrently.
