Brief description:

The Sound Designer defines and creates the complete sound experience in the vehicle—from UI tones to AVAS, ADAS, function and welcome sounds. The role also supports music and sound for presentations and animations. It ensures a consistent, brand-aligned sound strategy across all user touchpoints and project phases.

Key tasks:

1.Design all in-vehicle sounds across use cases and systems:Develop UI sounds, ADAS alerts, AVAS (Acoustic Vehicle Alerting System), welcome chimes, and function sounds with clear intent and brand fit.

2.Create a holistic and brand-aligned sound identity:Translate the brand's values and emotional tone into a coherent, recognizable sound language for all UX touchpoints.

3.Support music and sound design for animations and videos:Provide original sound design and music editing for internal and external presentations, concept films, and show car animations.

4.Collaborate with UX, HMI, and engineering teams for sound strategy:Ensure seamless integration of sound into digital and physical experiences across multiple disciplines and platforms.

5.Prototype and test sounds using Unity, FMOD, and vehicle mockups:Evaluate sound behavior in real-time environments and iterate based on acoustic quality, usability, and user impact.

6.Coordinate with engineering teams and audio suppliers:Align sound playback, system constraints, and acoustic fidelity with hardware implementation and vehicle architecture.

7.Maintain and evolve a structured automotive sound library:Build a scalable sound asset collection, categorized for reuse across models and ensuring version control and documentation.

8.Conduct lab and in-vehicle acoustic evaluations:Validate user perception, comfort, compliance, and brand impact of sounds using real-world testing and feedback loops

9.Ensure compliance with global audio standards and regulations:Design sounds that meet AVAS, ADAS, and safety legislation while enhancing UX value and brand expression.

10.Observe trends in automotive and consumer sound design:Stay current on mobility, gaming, and digital sound design to keep the brand's soundscape modern, emotional, and globally relevant.

Qualification and skills:

1.Degree in Transportation Design, Industrial Design, or Automotive Design

2.Experience in vehicle or interaction sound design Understanding of AVAS, ADAS, UI sound, and acoustic regulations. Proven record of experience in developing sounds. 

3.Experience in vehicle or interaction sound design
Understanding of AVAS, ADAS, UI sound, and acoustic regulations
Skilled in sound software (e.g., FMOD, Unity, Reaper, Pro Tools)
Experience supporting multimedia content with sound/music
Strong collaboration and storytelling abilityDegree in Sound Design, Audio Engineering, or related field
