The Role
The Principal Electrical Engineer is a senior technical leader who drives the electrical design and development of GoPro products. This role requires deep technical expertise, the ability to clearly communicate technical requirements to cross-functional teams, and hands-on experience to ensure the delivery of high-quality hardware designs.

What You Will Do

  • Responsible for electrical design, reviews, and collaboration with cross functional teams to accomplish GoPro projects and JDM deliverables.
  • Responsible for electrical circuit design with ORCAD, PCB layout reviews, and managing electrical BOM to PLM system.
  • Develop electrical design documents, test requirements, and validate electrical design which meet functional, reliability, high volume manufacturing, and safety requirement.
  • Responsible for engineering development plans, and schedules to achieve product requirements.
  • Support compliance team to ensure hardware designs meet electrical compliance requirements.
  • Accountable for resolving technical issues, and issue tracking with JIRA.
  • Support second source components qualification during hardware development and post launch.

Skills We're Excited About

  • MS or BsC degree in electrical engineering with 12+ years of experience in related consumer electrical design
  • Experience in designing electrical system with Microprocessor, DDR memory, power system, high-speed transceivers, WiFi/BT/GPS devices, and high-speed signals such as I2C, I3C, I2S, SPI, UART, USB, MIPI, PCIe, and SLVS-EC serial interfaces.
  • Experience in Orcad schematic, Allegro PCB EDA tool, and managing electrical BOM and ECO with PLM system such as Arena
  • Proven ability in analyzing root cause, complex technical debugging, and independent problem solving.
  • Professional working proficiency in written and spoken English.
  • Excellent communication skills, adept at collaborating with cross-functional teams at our U.S. headquarters.
  • Hands on experience with electrical test equipments, such as Oscilloscope, digital signal analyzers, TDR, power anazlyer, USB2/3 PHY analyzer, EMI and ESD testing, and etc.
