Lab Animal Research Scientist

Brii Bio is seeking a skilled experimental animal technician for our growing drug discovery team. The individual will be working in our state-of-the-art discovery laboratory and vivarium in Shanghai, China.  The successful candidate for this position will be an animal experiment expert in his/her field and will provide animal research support, animal health care, and facilities and equipment maintenance for the Brii Bio research and development programs. Primary responsibilities will be animal-based activities to execute experimental animal studies, generate and record data and report results to a broad program team. Experience in handling and injecting rodents by various routes is required. Experience with tissue dissection, histological techniques, as well as other laboratory techniques is an advantage. Comply with animal welfare regulations and institutional policies and guidelines. Performs other duties as assigned. A deep knowledge of higher species animal models will also be important. The candidate must have good organizational, writing and communication abilities to communicate results and ideas with other team members including non-scientists.

• Manage animal facilities and equipment Maintenance.
• Provides technical support for research scientists for specific procedures outlined in approved animal use protocols such as, but not limited to: injections, blood withdrawals, tissue collections, or other procedural support.
• Assist in setting goals and meeting experimental animal study timelines and making a strategy in alignment with the goals and key scientific objectives for the research.
• Assist the lead research scientist with conducting the experiment, recording and collecting pharmacological, pharmacokinetic and toxicology data.
• Ensure all data and results are carefully documented in Brii electronic lab notebook systems.
• Demonstrate creative animal experiment skills and thinkings to solve problems and execute animal experimental plans when required to achieve project goals.
• Understand and adhere to corporate standards regarding code of conduct, safety, appropriate handling of materials, controlled drug, and animal care where applicable.
• Prepare, and deliver scientific presentations for internal/external use if necessary.
• Collaborate and manage external CRO teams.
• Work cross-functionally in complex and fast-paced research organization.
• Stay current with scientific literature and advancements in the field.

• Bachelor's Degree or above - Animal Science, veterinary, zoology, biological sciences, agriculture, or related field
• Work Exp 3+ years of experience in experimental animal husbandry, animal modeling and experimental operation technology, or related industry field
• Demonstrated track record of industry animal research or publications.
• Experience in performing a variety of rodent and/or higher species behavioral and/or pharmacological assays is preferred.
• Proficiency with small animal handling, dosing compounds through a variety of different routes and tissue harvest is required.
• Experience with histological techniques, including immunohistochemistry and microscopy techniques, as well as other laboratory techniques is a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaborate in a team-oriented environment.
• Good track record of completing challenging technical problems, exemplified by buildup of research animal models in high-quality animal studies.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills and ability to work efficiently and productively in a dynamic, scientifically rigorous, and fast-paced
