Senior Quality Assurance Engineer

We are a team to design, develop, maintain, and improve software for various ventures projects, i.e., projects that are adjacent to our core businesses and are bootstrapped fast with a lean team. You will be actively involved in the design of various components behind scalable applications, from frontend UI to backend infrastructure.

Job Summary

• The Senior QA Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and executing comprehensive test plans to ensure the quality and reliability of software products
• This role requires deep technical expertise, strong analytical skills, and a proactive approach to identifying defects and improving test processes
• The Senior QA Engineer will collaborate with development, product, and operations teams to drive quality assurance best practices and support continuous integration and delivery

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, execute and improve detailed test cases, test scripts, and automation frameworks for functional, and regression testing
• Lead testing efforts for complex features and critical product components, ensuring high reliability and performance
• Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, UX designers on analyzing requirements, user stories, and technical specifications to create effective test strategies, plans and cases
• Identify, report, and track defects using test management tools, advocating for timely resolution with the development team
• Mentor junior QA engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing and process improvements within the QA team
• Stay updated on emerging QA technologies, tools, and trends, incorporating best practices into testing processes
• Communicate test results, risks, and quality status clearly to stakeholders

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience (6+ years) in software quality assurance, with significant exposure to multiple testing methodologies
• Strong expertise in test automation tools and scripting languages (e.g. Selenium, Appium, JMeter, Locust, Gatling, Python, Pytest, Pytest-bdd, Java)
• Experience in REST and WebSocket API automation testing with Python/Java.
• Experience with relational and distributed databases for data validation and testing
• Familiar with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, CircleCI) and version control systems (GitHub)
• Solid knowledge of development processes and Jira workflow
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
• A working proficiency in Mandarin is a plus
• Knowledge of blockchain or fintech environments is a plus
