We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Consultant Specialist.

Business: ENTERPRISE TECHNOLOGY L3

Principal responsibilities

  • Designing and contributing to the implementation of complex algorithms, complex data engineering pipelines and the delivery of GSNA release.
  • Responsible for implementing Scala solutions on Hadoop (Spark), development of Elastic Search components may also be required.  The role will require working closely with Project Managers, Technical Leads, Data analysts, server and web developers, QA engineers, and Product Owners throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements

Essential Technical Skills:

  • Strong in Java Scala, Spark development
  • Developing, iterating and productionising complex data models
  • Big Data/Hadoop/Parallel Processing
  • Jenkins pipeline development
  • Linux shell programming

Essential Interpersonal Skills:

  • Data science/engineering background
  • Development experience in Java, Scala, Hadoop, Spark
  • Strong development experience in big data processing systems
  • Identify and develop the Technical Design documents. Develop and document high level Conceptual Data Process designs for review by data analysts.
  • Provide training, guidance, assistance, and knowledge transfer among team members.
  • Perform other duties as assigned. Overall, a good general technical knowledge.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to navigate a complex organisation.
  • Ability to be self-directed/motivated.
  • Keen to learn new skills and approaches.  Inquisitive nature.
  • Excellent organisation skills and capability to manage multiple parallel activities.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
