Position: Mechanical Engineer

Location: Suzhou

Job type: Full Time

As the mechanical engineer you will be responsible for:

New product development

•    Define, develop, implement and verify requirements

•    Participate in the mechanical design research and development of new products, including component selection, material evaluation, and structural layout etc.

•    Identify and apply relevant Design-For-X development for PIP & VTE

•    Create 3D models and 2D drawings using CAD tools.

•    Lead or support prototype built and coordinate with internal or external resources.

•    Conduct mechanical performance and reliability tests to verify the design.

•    Analyze test results and iterate designs to meet product requirements.

•    Perform and document product risk analysis and specify risk control measures.

•    Design, implement, validate and maintain test tools and equipment needed for product development.
Product improvement and maintenance

•    Facilitate the transition from design to mass production.

•    Analyze change requests, NCs, CAPAs and claims as assigned. 

•    Lead the evaluation and validation of design changes to ensure product performance and compliance.

•    Support sustaining engineering activities, including product continuity, product obsolescence activities and cost-reduction initiatives within the factory.

•    Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to achieve specific project goals and drive continuous improvement.
Take responsibility for development, documentation and quality of Mechanical Design output from Product development, improvement and maintenance activities.

 

The skills you will need


•    Bachelor's degree or above, major in mechanical engineering or related.

•    5+ years product development or product maintenance experience, medical device background preferred.

•    Skilled in modern product development best practices and applicable tools. Keep abreast of current state of the art and development within relevant industry standards, competitors and market trends.

•    Ability to lead and facilitate team activities in the team

•    Familiarity with product development lifecycle, from concept to mass production.

•    Experience in supporting mass production and driving cost-down or sustaining engineering projects.

•    Familiarity with PLM systems and engineering change management processes.

•    Experience from work on plastic injection issue handling is preferred.

•    Fluent in English (spoken and written).
