Service Engineer

Your main responsibilities are:

• Team leader in Maintenance & overhauling 2 Stroke engine and relative equipment/system on field.
• Commissioning and troubleshooting of problems on diesel engine and power equipment.
• Provide local technical support to diesel engine and power equipment operation.
• 2S X, DF engine dock service/routine maintenance/upgradings/troubleshooting/sea trial according to work plan.
• Interact professionally with customers during the work execution, developing 2S engine business to the next level.
• Participate in negotiations with customers.
• Participate in technical discussions with TS and product line.
• Leading a team to build high performing of the field service work/project.
• Ensure that the work is executed according to Wärtsilä QEHS guidelines and site procedures.
• Provide professional service reports in English according to Wärtsilä Standards.

You will shine in this role when you have:

• A safety first mind-set.
• Interact professionally and deliver solutions to customers during the work execution.
• Be able to handle pressure and make decision independently when required.
• Negotiation and team working skills. Highly effective technical communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proficient on 2 stroke low speed diesel engine, especially flex, X, DF engines.
• 5+ years work experience in marine industries or other heavy industries, field service, Seaman or shipyard would be preferred. Flexible working scheme.
• Experience in 2S engine mechanical field beneficial.
• Experience of working with electrical systems beneficial.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft office suite.
• Fluent in English and Chinese both oral and written.
• You are mainly located in Shanghai and willing and able to travel inside China frequently and outside of China if necessary.

Education:

• Bachelor degree minimum in Electrical/Marine Engineering/Automation.
• Relevant technical education or qualifications as a combination of education and experience beneficial.
