Amazon Lab126 designs and develops consumer electronic devices, including the Kindle, Fire, and Echo product families. We create innovative solutions that shape the future of consumer electronics.

Key job responsibilities

As a Battery Validation Support Engineer, you will be responsible for battery cell and pack validation for our devices, ensuring optimal performance, safety, and longevity. You'll collaborate with manufacturers and internal teams to validate batteries across a mix of ODM, JDM and OEM programs. You will provide automation test scripts for internal and external testing. You will provide summary of test results, detailed diagnostics and data analysis of test failures.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

  • Conduct battery testing at cell, pack, and device levels
  • Develop automation test scripts for test equipment (cycler, temperature chamber, DAQ system, etc.)
  • Perform failure analysis and provide summary of test reports
  • Partner with contract manufacturers to execute comprehensive battery cell, pack and device level testing
  • Collaborate with battery, electrical and system engineers to establish test parameters
  • Maintain laboratory equipment and testing infrastructure

Basic Qualifications

  • BS in EE, Computer Engineering, or related field
  • Strong fundamentals in knowledge of electrical engineering
  • SQL or Python experience for data analysis
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with electrical designs including power sequences, regulators, embedded communication bus, and power states
  • Common bus protocols such as SPI, I2C, UART
