About the job
We are seeking a results-driven Digital Manager to join our China team, supporting the end-to-end execution of digital initiatives aligned with global strategy and local business priorities. This role will bridge global digital standards with China's market-specific needs, leading local application management, cross-functional project delivery, and roadmap refinement—while ensuring full compliance with regional and global regulations. The ideal candidate will combine strong project management skills, deep understanding of digital processes, and a collaborative mindset to drive operational excellence and digital transformation in the Chinese market.
Main responsibilities:
Local Application Management
Oversee the lifecycle management of China-specific digital applications (e.g., CRM, eCommerce platforms, data analytics tools, internal collaboration systems), including deployment, maintenance, troubleshooting, and user support.Monitor application performance, gather user feedback from local teams (sales, marketing, operations), and propose iterative improvements to enhance usability, efficiency, and business impact.Coordinate with global IT/tech teams to ensure local applications are aligned with global technical standards, data security requirements, and system integration needs.
Cross-Functional Project Management
Lead end-to-end delivery of China digital projects (e.g., digital tool rollouts, process automation, platform upgrades) by collaborating with global digital/IT teams, local business functions (sales, marketing, finance, compliance), and external vendors.Develop project plans, define milestones, allocate resources, and track progress to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery; proactively identify and mitigate risks, escalate issues as needed.Facilitate effective communication between global stakeholders and local teams, ensuring alignment on project goals, timelines, and expectations while adapting global frameworks to local market realities.
Digital Roadmap Support
Partner with the China Digital Lead to develop and refine the China digital transformation roadmap, translating global strategy into actionable local initiatives that address business pain points and growth opportunities.Conduct market and competitor analysis to identify emerging digital trends, technologies, and best practices in China (e.g., AIGC, social commerce, data analytics) and propose relevant innovations for inclusion in the roadmap.Support the prioritization of roadmap initiatives based on business value, resource availability, and alignment with global/regional priorities; track roadmap execution and report on progress to leadership.
Process & Compliance Adherence
Deeply understand global digital processes, policies, and compliance guidelines (e.g., data privacy, cybersecurity, IT governance) and localize them to meet China's regulatory requirements (e.g., Cyber Security Law, Data Security Law, Personal Information Protection Law).Train and guide local teams on digital process compliance, ensure consistent adoption of global/local standards, and conduct regular audits to identify gaps and drive remediation.Collaborate with the compliance and legal teams to stay updated on regulatory changes and ensure all digital initiatives, applications, and data handling practices remain compliant.
About you
Education & Experience
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.5+ years of relevant experience in digital project management, application management, or digital operations, preferably in a multinational company (MNC) or consumer healthcare/retail/pharmaceutical industry.Proven track record of leading cross-functional digital projects, managing local applications, and aligning global strategy with local execution.
Core Competencies
Strong project management skills: Ability to plan, execute, and monitor complex projects, with proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Jira, Asana, Microsoft Project).Deep understanding of digital technologies and applications (e.g., CRM, CDP, eCommerce platforms, data analytics tools) and their practical application in the Chinese market.Excellent cross-functional collaboration and communication skills: Ability to work effectively with global teams, local business stakeholders, and external partners; fluent in both English and Mandarin (written and verbal).Compliance mindset: Familiarity with China's data privacy, cybersecurity, and IT regulatory frameworks (e.g., Cybersecurity Law, PIPL) and global compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, ISO).Strategic thinking: Ability to contribute to roadmap development, identify business opportunities, and balance short-term operational needs with long-term digital transformation goals.Problem-solving and adaptability: Proactive approach to addressing challenges, ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, and willingness to embrace change.
Preferred Qualifications
Certification in project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) or digital transformation (e.g., Digital Transformation Leadership certification) is a plus.Experience in the consumer healthcare (CHC), pharmaceutical, or FMCG industry is highly preferred.Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and DevOps practices.
