UI/UX Lead Designer

Role Overview:

Our client is looking for an experienced and forward-thinking Design Lead to join their dynamic team in Shenzhen, China. Shenzhen is a high-tech city and a major technology hub in southern China, known for its innovation and growth. This role involves leading a global team of product designers and contributing to the design of their diverse range of products, including consumer applications and B2B SaaS solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong UIUX design background, leadership experience, and a passion for delivering user-centric products. Specifically, the client is seeking a candidate with work and living experience in the USA to ensure familiarity with current US trends. Please note that the successful candidate will need to relocate to China for this position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Leadership & Management:
  

• • Lead, mentor, and manage a distributed team of product designers, promoting a collaborative and innovative design culture.
    
  • Oversee the full design process from ideation to implementation, ensuring high-quality design standards across all projects.
    
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as product managers, engineers, and marketers, to align design strategies with business goals.
    
  • Conduct regular design reviews, providing constructive feedback and encouraging continuous improvement within the design team.
    

• Hands-On UX Design:
  

• • Drive the UIUX design process for a variety of products, including user research, prototyping, testing, and delivering high-fidelity design solutions.
    
  • Lead the development and maintenance of comprehensive design systems and guidelines for a consistent user experience.
    
  • Create intuitive, engaging, and visually appealing designs that enhance user experience and drive engagement.
    
  • Stay up-to-date with design trends and best practices to ensure their products remain innovative.
    

• User Research & Testing:
  

• • Conduct in-depth user research and usability testing to gather insights and validate design decisions.
    
  • Analyze user feedback and data to inform ongoing design improvements, ensuring products meet user needs and expectations.
    

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field.
  
• 7+ years of experience in UIUX design, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management role.
  
• Proven track record of designing successful products in consumer apps, B2B SaaS, or similar industries.
  
• Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Figma and Adobe Creative Suite.
  
• A strong portfolio showcasing expertise in UIUX design and a user-centric approach.
  
• Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  
• Ability to generate design variations and confidently explain design choices to leadership and team members.
  
• Experience managing multiple projects in a fast-paced, dynamic, and cross-cultural environment.
  
• Familiarity with agile development processes and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with AI-powered products.
  
• Knowledge of front-end/client development technologies is a plus.
  
• Passion for innovation and staying at the forefront of design trends and technologies.
  
• Mandarin language skills are a plus but not required.
  
• Specifically looking for candidates with work and living experience in the USA to ensure understanding of current US trends and consumer behavior.

This position is based in Shenzhen, China, a leading technology hub. The successful candidate will be required to relocate to Shenzhen for this opportunity.
