Sourcing Manager
Key Responsibilities
-Supplier Development and Management
- Lead the development, evaluation, selection, and relationship management of suppliers for raw materials including plastics, rubber, industrial synthetic chemicals (e.g., resins, modified materials, additives, solvents), lubricant additives, and metalworking fluids.
-Collaborate with the HSEQR department to conduct regular audits of supplier qualifications (e.g., quality systems, environmental compliance, production capacity), ensure supply stability.
-Optimize the supplier portfolio, mitigate souring risks.
-Implement the sourcing strategy of the Global Business Groups; actively support the exploration and development of new products, suppliers, and markets.
-Manage and maintain relationships with relevant key suppliers.
- Update and share market changes with relevant business lines. Sourcing Execution
- In-depth product knowledge (performance, applications, market trends), and supply dynamics of purchased products from regular manufacturers.
- Assist overseas business units in annual/quarterly/monthly purchase plans, ensure timely raw material supply under various market trends.
- Lead price negotiations with Chinese suppliers (covering key terms such as quotation, payment terms, and delivery), assist sister companies in signing procurement contracts with Chinese suppliers, and monitor order execution while resolving delivery exceptions and quality issues.
- Monitor market dynamics of purchased products (e.g., price fluctuations in upstream/downstream products, changes in regulations, international freight adjustments) to support sourcing strategies adjusting flexibly.
- Cost Control and Optimization
- Optimize overall sourcing costs through price negotiations, alternative material development, and group centralized purchasing.
- Regularly update and compare prices of key purchased products against market benchmarks to ensure competitiveness.
- Risk Management, Compliance and Quality Control
-Collaborate with the overseas purchasing team to monitor inventory levels and prevent stockouts or overstocking.
-Strictly monitor raw material sourcing channels to ensure traceability of product origin.
- Ensure sourcing processes comply with company policies and regulatory requirements (e.g., REACH, hazardous chemicals transportation regulations). Data Analysis and Reporting
- Conduct regular analysis, aggregation, and reporting of sourcing data and supplier metrics (e.g., supplier count changes, product prices, demand volumes) to support management decision-making.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or above, with a preference for majors in chemical engineering, materials science, polymer materials, organic chemistry, applied chemistry, or related chemical fields.
- Minimum 8 years of relevant procurement experience in industrial chemicals, with preferential consideration for candidates having 5+ years of procurement experience in plastics, rubber, industrial synthetic chemicals, lubricant additives, etc.
- Familiar with import-export procedures and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Prior experience in procurement for multinational corporations or sales backgrounds in chemical trade (import-export) is preferred.
- In-depth understanding of product characteristics and application scenarios for plastics (compound, converters), rubber (additives, fillers); industrial synthetic chemicals (solvents, resins), and metalworking fluids.
- Familiarity with lubricant additives and metalworking additives.
- English as a working language.
