Job Description
• Powernet responsibility Take technical responsibility for vehicle low-voltage powernet functions across requirement clarification, system integration, validation, and issue handling. Analyze and derive system requirements for 12V powernet functions and support architecture-aware clarification of system behavior. Plan, support, and evaluate powernet testing at vehicle, bench, and system level. Support release preparation and technical documentation according to project milestones.
• MGS/MGC responsibility Act as module-group speaker/coordinator for the relevant powernet scope and coordinate topics across project management, line functions, integration teams, and suppliers. Clarify and steer cost, maturity, timing, and technical-concept topics for the module-group scope. Prepare decision-ready proposals, tradeoff analyses, and escalation inputs for target deviations and concept alternatives.
• Component localization responsibility Support localization of 12V powernet-related components for local vehicle projects. Coordinate technical topics with suppliers, local teams, and global counterparts regarding component behavior, maturity, feasibility, and implementation constraints. Clarify component-level interfaces and support evaluation of impacts on system behavior, validation, and release readiness.
• Network development and troubleshooting responsibility Take technical responsibility for China-relevant network topics that can be implemented in GRC/RDVM or local CN development, including adaptation, integration, validation, and issue handling. Clarify and further develop network architecture, communication requirements, signal paths, wake-up and sleep behavior, and network-management concepts in alignment with affected systems and stakeholders. Coordinate implementation and validation of network-related hardware and software topics at ECU, bench, and vehicle level together with local teams, Germany counterparts, and suppliers, including AUTOSAR-related communication interfaces where applicable. Analyze communication-, signal-, and topology-related issues for Ethernet, CAN FD, LIN, and FlexRay networks and support derivation of corrective actions and release recommendations. Support local documentation, release preparation, and first-level technical clarification for network-related changes and incidents.
• Cross-functional collaboration Provide technical support for stakeholders such as testing, production, quality, aftersales, and vehicle integration. Ensure regular information exchange and know-how transfer with counterparts in Germany and support local implementation where required. Coordinate cross-functional issue resolution and support interface clarification between powernet functions, ECUs, components, and related systems. Qualifications
• Education University degree in Automotive Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics, or similar.
• Experience
• First experience in the automotive industry or 2-3 years of work experience at OEMs or suppliers.
• 2-3 years of experience in overall vehicle EE system development, integration, testing, troubleshooting, or communication-network development.
• Strong preference for hands-on background in communication-network development, network architecture definition, cross-ECU interface clarification, and AUTOSAR-based communication development in vehicle EE projects.
• Experience with low-voltage powernet system responsibility, network-management issue handling, network implementation coordination, or overall vehicle EE integration is preferred.
• Experience with module coordination, component development, localization, China-specific implementation topics, or cross-functional issue handling is preferred.
• Specific Knowledge
• Good understanding of vehicle low-voltage powernet system behavior, including energy management, load management, and system interaction.
• Good understanding of module-level target coordination, technical tradeoff clarification, and cost-feasibility alignment in vehicle development projects.
• Strong understanding of vehicle EE networking architecture, network management, signal communication, wake-up and sleep behavior, ECU interface dependencies, and network implementation and validation at ECU and vehicle level.
• Good understanding of vehicle communication protocols including automotive Ethernet, CAN FD, LIN, and FlexRay, as well as AUTOSAR communication concepts, architecture, interfaces, and communication-stack dependencies; practical project experience is preferred.
• Proficiency in Vector CANoe and CANape for simulation, measurement, and analysis; Simulink and CAPL are a plus.
• Experience with vehicle-level EE system testing and analysis; cluster HIL experience is a plus.
• Experience with vehicle diagnostic tools such as DTS9 or equivalent tools.
• Capability to analyze requirements, specifications, test cases, and system behavior in a structured and evidence-based way.
• Strong planning, organizational, and cross-functional coordination skills.
• Intercultural competence and communication skills with stakeholders on different hierarchy levels.
• Language
• Chinese native speaker or equivalent fluency.
• Fluent English, written and spoken.
• German is a plus.
• Other Requirements
• Self-driven team player with strong ownership in technical issue solving.
• Willingness to travel inside China and abroad to prepare and support launches at joint ventures and suppliers.
• Valid Chinese driving license with at least 2 years of driving experience.
