A Snapshot of Your Day
As a Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) for Welding and Package Piping, you will be responsible for driving supplier quality excellence, mainly for welding process of gas turbine package piping, additional for other material need welding processes.
Acting as a key expert within the supplier quality organization, you will work closely with global and regional commodity teams, suppliers, engineering and global quality teams to support supplier qualification, process and product changes, non-conformance resolution, and continuous improvement initiatives.
With a strong focus on the Chinese supply base, you will leverage local market knowledge, manufacturing expertise, and supplier development capabilities to strength supplier performance and support business growth.
How You’ll Make An Impact
• Lead supplier qualification and development activities for welded fabrications, package piping, pipe racks, and mechanical assemblies.
• Perform technical surveillance audits and manufacturing assessments of welding and piping suppliers.
• Review and approve welding documentation including WPS, PQR, WPQ, ITP, and quality plans.
• Lead investigations of welding and piping non-conformances and drive RCCA and CAPA implementation.
• Support Local-for-Global sourcing initiatives and develop resilient suppliers in China and globally. What You Bring
• Bachelor or equivalent degree with Mechanical Engineering, Welding Engineering, or a related educational background.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in welding, fabrication, package piping, pressure parts, or related manufacturing industries.
• Strong knowledge of welding processes, including GTAW (TIG), GMAW (MIG/MAG), SMAW, SAW, and pipe welding applications.
• Experience with welding qualification requirements, including WPS, PQR, WPQ, and welder qualification programs.
• Familiarity with piping fabrication, pipe supports, pipe racks, pressure testing, and installation requirements.
• Knowledge of NDT methods including VT, PT, MT, UT, and RT.
• Familiar with the manufacturing processes and key control points for piping systems, steel structures, and skid assembly/installtion. Proficient in interpreting piping isometric drawings, P&IDs, Installation drawings, and electrical wiring diagrams.
• Familiar with relevant Amercian and European standards, as well as PED requirements.
• Proven experience in supplier qualification, manufacturing audits, FAI, process validation, and supplier development.
• Workable written and verbal English communication skills are required to effectively support projects and collaborate with international teams.
• Willing and able to travel local and global, with business travel expected to exceed 70% of total working time. Who is Siemens Energy?
