About Us
We are an innovative VC-backed startup dedicated to revolutionizing the hearing solutions market with our groundbreaking products and services. Our mission is to improve lives by developing exceptional hearing devices — starting with advanced hearing aids, but not limited to them — that combine individualised fitting, cutting-edge technology, and a simple, human-centric experience. We have operations in the US, Mainland China, and Hong Kong. As we continue to expand, we are looking for an experienced acoustic tech lead to drive our acoustic technology roadmap and team.
What You'll Do
• Lead the acoustic design and development for the company's entire product portfolio from architecture to mass production.
• Define and drive the acoustic technology roadmap, including transducer selection, acoustic structure platform, and test strategy.
• Manage, mentor, and grow a small team of acoustic engineers and technicians; conduct design reviews, code/test reviews, and performance evaluations.
• Serve as the primary acoustic interface with cross-functional teams: industrial design, mechanical engineering, firmware/DSP, electrical engineering, and operations.
• Make key technical decisions on acoustic architecture, trade-offs between acoustic gain, feedback margin, power consumption, and user comfort.
• Establish acoustic specifications, test methodologies (including real-ear measurements, coupler tests, and production line tests), and quality standards.
• Lead root-cause analysis for complex acoustic issues during prototyping, reliability testing, and mass production; drive systematic solutions.
• Explore new acoustic technologies (e.g., MEMS speakers, advanced feedback cancellation, binaural processing) and evaluate their feasibility for future products. What You'll Bring
• Master's/PhD in Acoustics, Physics, ME, or related field; 7+ years in hearing aids, headphones, or compact audio products; proven track record from concept to mass production.
• Deep knowledge of miniature transducers (receivers, mics, speakers) and acoustic structures for in-ear/occluding devices; experienced in feedback suppression, vent design, directivity, sealing/consistency trade-offs.
• Proficient with acoustic simulation (COMSOL, Abaqus, etc.) and structural/vibration analysis; hands-on with measurement systems (AP/SoundCheck/KEMAR/Interacoustics, etc.).
• Regularly uses AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Copilot, etc.) in daily work and life, and has a solid personal understanding of their strengths, limitations, and practical applications.
• Excellent communication skills in English.
