Commodity Manager Electronics
Key Responsibilities
- Implement commodity strategy and supplier panel
- Drive benchmark activities within commodity
- Scout the market and manage introduction of new suppliers and new technologies
- Lead negotiations and recharge COPQ with assigned suppliers
- Ensure all applicable contracts are signed by assigned suppliers
- Identify and lead cost saving initiatives at assigned suppliers
- Support other functions with commodity expertise
- Support other functions when problem solving cannot be handled at their stage (e.g. for NPD, quality, shortages)
- Coordinate supplier phase out process and transfers
- Manage supplier tools replacement
- Lead QBR process with assigned suppliers
- Manage purchasing data in SAP
- Ensure shortest possible supplier and procurement lead time
- Anticipate commodity risks and set preventive actions Key Requirements
- Direct materials cost saving
- Supplier quality performance (PPM and criticality)
- Supplier delivery performance (# of shortages, OTD and lead time)
- Supplier strategy implementation
- Supplier contractual coverage
- Supplier COPQ (recorded value and % of recharge) Competencies and Skills Managing Vision & Purpose, Managerial Courage, Priority Setting, Perseverance, Customer Focus, Self Development, Innovation, Drive for Results, Creativity, Cost analysis, Conflict Management, Problem Solving, Negotiation, Interpersonal Savvy, Teamwork, Continuous Improvement.
