Purpose:

The purpose of (Senior) Advisor – China Value, Evidence and Outcomes (CVEO) is to provide scientific support on health outcomes (HO) research activities within the medical department as well as activities related to the access of our products into the local market by:

Lead/support development and implementation of HO strategies that effectively support pricing, and market access objectives in China

Provide Chinese input into Global HO plan

Manage the efficient and timely development of HO deliverables (value messages, publications, and health economic models)

Provide HO support for Key Account Management and other customer initiatives

Develop and manage research partnerships with academia, thought leaders, other customers, and contract research organizations to enhance the impact of HO projects

Facilitate the communication of research results to customers through interaction with key internal customers

Collaborate and support Medical, and Corporate Affairs teams in China.

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Development of Health Outcomes Research Studies/Real World Studies

Discuss and provide inputs regarding study plan, protocol design and follow-up of health outcomes research/real world studies.

Effective and timely review and synthesis of published literature and prepare project summary documentation

Provide input in data collection, data management or data analysis methods

Ability to work working with stakeholders during project execution

Write and submit manuscripts to peer-reviewed scientific journals. Present research at scientific conferences

Apply and seek technical expertise to conduct scientific research in the health outcomes field

Help in the identification and analyses of problems, making proposals for solutions and decisions. Discuss them with management.

2. Health Economics Research

Have an understanding of healthcare delivery, reimbursement and payment systems in China to effectively implement economic evaluation.

Experience of using healthcare databases or with outcomes research (e.g. Health Related Quality of Life).

Effectively develop budget impact models to support products.

Understand and contribute to the development of cost-effectiveness analysis/adaptation to provide inputs on optimizing market access.

Be able to make scientific presentations of health economic projects.

3. Support PRA (Price, Reimbursement and Access) Related Activities

Excellent understanding on developing and communicating health economic arguments to ensure an optimized and efficient NRDL negotiation

Understanding of the application of PRA arguments by the pharmaceutical industry, and the related regulatory environment

Ensure that stakeholders' needs and objectives are understood and met.

Provide consultancy to customers and colleagues

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills - with good presentation skills and an ability to operate effectively in a cross-functional setting.

4. Customer Orientation & Communication

Excellent external customer relations/communication skills

Communicate effectively with all members of the team locally and globally

Represent Medical at internal and external professional meetings

5. Teamwork & Attitude

Show therapeutic/clinical/technical influence across numerous departments

High levels of initiative, drive and commitment.

6. Personal Development:

Initiate effort to grow and develop as a technical leader through education and experience.

Remain well informed in area of responsibility.

Minimum Qualification Requirements:

Medical or Pharmacy master degree, preferably with experience in health economics, epidemiology, public health or equivalent.

Other Information/Additional Preferences:

Global understanding of healthcare and health outcomes research; deep understanding of China 's healthcare system

Capability to assist in the development of projects in health outcomes research including budget impact analysis and cost-effectiveness studies.

Good communication skills along with an ability to write study protocols, reports or manuscripts.

Ability to work with stakeholders during project execution

Fluency in English
