Responsibilities:

Serve as the subject matter expert for battery materials, providing technical support and guidance to internal teams and external customers. Develop, plan and execute on technical application projects to demonstrate value of Lubrizol polymers and additives in battery applications. Support customer meetings by making product presentations, collecting voice of customer and providing technical support. Develop and maintain a deep understanding of battery manufacturing processes, including line survey experience for secure launch. Collaborate with cross-functional global teams to develop and implement technical programs and solutions for clients. Conduct technical evaluations and assessments of battery materials and manufacturing processes to identify areas for improvement. Stay updated on industry trends, advancements, and emerging technologies in the battery sector. Participate in technical conferences, seminars, and workshops to represent Lubrizol, enhance knowledge and network with industry experts. Work closely with cross-cultural, cross-regional teams to ensure effective communication and collaboration on technical projects. Support the development and implementation of training programs for internal teams and clients. Travel requirement ~ 30% of the time.

Requirements:

PhD in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, Polymer Science or related field. Minimum 3 years of experience working with battery materials and a solid understanding of the lithium-ion battery material. Deep knowledge of polymeric binders and materials in batteries considered a plus. Experience working in a lab setting with hands-on formulation development, and battery cell fabrication. Experience in following safe laboratory practices to local and company standards. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address technical challenges. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously, while delivering high-quality results in a faced-paced environment. Fluency in English is required. Proficiency in other Asian languages is a plus.
