SCADA Engineer

GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB:

PLC Integration and SCADA Design Engineer will facilitate integration between PLCs and other HMI's like Allen Bradley, Honeywell, Mitsubishi, and Red Lion with Ignition SCADA and assist with design, and deployment of harmonized dashboards across all Isola global locations. This position will also work in partnership with the IT team to aggregate machine data collected by the SCADA database into the Enterprise Data warehouse and produce analytical charts as well as enable predictive analysis on cloud analytics. This position requires basic knowledge of PLC and working with a core team to enable the PLCs to communicate over the network and setup tags on Ignition. Ideal candidate is an ardent problem solver with abundant enthusiasm to learn and able to think outside the box utilizing all available resources internally as well as online to achieve the goals of the organization. Basic knowledge of OPC-UA and the functions of PLC is required. Fundamental knowledge of data structure is required.

This position will report into IT and dotted line to Engineering.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Define functional requirements for SCADA solutions and interfaces in partnership with Global Engineering and IT.
• Develop detailed designs, solutions, implement, troubleshoot, and test SCADA and integration solutions on the Ignition platform
• Implementation, Training, and Global Rollout of new solutions

• Develop documentation including creating test scripts as required for validation
• Work as a team player on project team

• Solicit feedback and comments from subject matter experts and managers on proposed solutions and make necessary adjustments to ensure the best solutions are implemented quickly.
• Ability to manage small projects and/or project tasks related to specific modules including defining, organizing, planning, and executing scope items

• Receive directions and assignments from Manager on projects and tasks and ensure completion of assigned activities Coordinate and collaborate with Engineering and IT Teams around the globe.

• Serve as first-level support for Ignition solutions and triage the tickets.

• Provides timely status updates to Management and key business users.
• Effectively interacts with all levels of employees as well as outside customers and vendors where required
• Keep self-updated on Ignition roadmap and technologies in the SCADA domain.
