About the team

We are looking for a talented, senior-level PQ algorithm engineer with a strong SW background to support Roku’s TV Platform Picture Quality (PQ) team working on PQ improvements. Are you an engineer who enjoys a challenge? Come work on one of the most popular streaming platforms, currently running on one in every three smart TVs sold in North America 

About the role

In this role, you will improve existing and develop new video algorithms for various Roku platforms, which increases the viewing experience and/or cost efficiency. You will work with different SoC hardware and software components, and design scalable solutions.

What you will be doing

Develop innovative new video algorithms Implement and evaluate algorithms either by simulation or real-time setup Investigate system cost-down options while compensating with video processing Algorithmically reverse engineering from competitor analysis Drive SoC partners for improvements Document algorithms

We’re excited if you have

10+ years of relevant video processing algorithm development experience
Preferably in SoC or TCON based processing Very good coding skills to allow for fast prototyping and experiments Master’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or other relevant fields Excel working in a fast-paced, collaborative engineering environment. Excellent communication skills
