About Role

The Director of Admissions, Marketing and Communications (AMC) oversees all aspects of School Admissions, Marketing and Communications to attract, convert and retain a community of families who embrace the School vision, mission and values. The Director of AMC will develop and implement an integrated strategic marketing and communications plan to build the School’s reputation, manage issues and crises, and engage a breadth of stakeholders (partners, parents, students, staff).

Leading a team of AMC experts, the Director of Admissions, Marketing and Communications will be a member of the School Leadership Team (SLT). Members of the SLT have joint responsibility for all aspects of the School; each has a focus of responsibility and all contribute to the whole and support the work of others.

Admissions Marketing Communications Crisis Communications Preparedness and Management Stakeholder and Community Engagement Strategic Partnerships Customer Experience Other General Duties related to daily operations of the school

Our School

Dulwich International High School Zhuhai (DHZH) is a selective, English-medium, co-educational four-year high school. Our students are highly motivated and learning focused which provides an outstanding school climate to work in. The majority of our almost 400 students are PRC nationals who will pursue their tertiary studies at excellent universities and colleges outside China. To this end, our students opt out of the Chinese education system at the end of junior middle school to follow a curriculum leading to IGCSEs and A Levels.

DHZH is currently in our thirteenth year of operation and moved to an 800 seat purpose built campus on Hengqin Island in 2021. We opened in September 2010 within the beautiful grounds of the prestigious Yung Wing School in Zhuhai. The links with both Dulwich College London and Yung Wing School allow us to live the ideal that our school is a bridge between the educational traditions of East and West and it is this unique distinction that sets us apart from our competitors.

Zhuhai is one of several Special Economic Zones in mainland China and is experiencing considerable development including Hengqin Island, which is part of an Education and Technology hub in South China’s Greater Bay Area. Macau lies only minutes away and a one-hour ferry journey or bus ride on the new Zhuhai-Macau bridge will take you to Hong Kong.

Zhuhai is well positioned for flights into China and South East Asia and its high standard of living and warm temperate climate make it an excellent place to pursue an international teaching career.

Requirement

Strong experience in admissions, marketing and communications with a minimum of 5 years in a management role. Respect for and understanding of education. Ability to maintain absolute confidentiality and the integrity related to all aspects of information disseminated within or external to the Group. Proven experience in developing an admissions and marketing plan/strategy. Proven leadership success in admissions, marketing and communications. Demonstrable experience of leading marketing campaign and building brand awareness based on a strong set of values. Experience in leading crisis communications. Excellent time management and organisational skills. High level English, with strong writing, content creation and editing skills. High level Mandarin Chinese skills and a deep understanding of Chinese culture. Strong communications skills with ability to connect effectively with a diverse set of stakeholders from school senior management team to partners and parents in both one-on-one and group settings. Project management skills with strong attention to detail. Degree in marketing, communications, journalism, public relations, English, or writing-intensive discipline.
