Business Context and Main Purpose of the Job
Home Care is a big, growing, complex and highly competitive category in Unilever business. Detergent liquid is a priority product format for Unilever Home Care North Asia business with strong growth trend and significant business size. There are several key brands launched liquid formats, including OMO, LHP and TW Bailan. Robust innovation plan and technology pipeline is extremely crucial to keep the competitiveness in the market. Meanwhile, value creation and sustainability are also part of our strategy. Working as Liquid Product Development Manager with business partners, SC partners, cross functional team land innovations. Develop new R&D capability to drive product superiority, support GM improvement plan as well as drive super technical communication to consumers and quality management. Build robust technology pipeline to satisfy consumer needs and build leading-edge competitiveness on new trends ( clothes care, fragrance and auto-dosing products). Hyper connected with BG R&D team and other BU R&D team for global technology landing in the local market and drive China for the rest of the world.
Main Accountabilities
Lead formulation development for liquid detergent based on innovation pipeline ie. Explore new/disruptive Home Care technology according to market trends analysis. Co-create liquid detergent strategy and innovation agenda with brand. Lead the product development for detergent liquid. Cooperate with brand team, SC and coordinate RD internal partner’s network. Close connect with consumer relative department to define the market trends, deep dive consumer insight, provide technical solutions for consumer needs. Responsible for risk management, intellectual property protection and patent, regulatory and SEAC clearance for liquid detergent formulations. Lead detergent liquid value creation technical work, drive gross margin improvement activities. Close connect with China ecosystem partners on new technologies and formats. Responsible for consumer feedback to product design. Take leadership for product quality from design stage. Hyper connect with BG R&D and other BU R&D, exchange the consumer insight and technologies. Develop new talents/TPL for Home Care R&D team, develop team capability on digital, technologies etc.Key Interfaces

Critical success Factors for the Job
Key Skills
Experience in Home Care or Personal care products formulation development. Experience in leadership and/or delivery of innovation projects Strong communication and influence skills & proven ability to interact across a range of functions & leadership groups Good Verbal/written Communication skills ability to influence peers, key stakeholders and senior leaders Dealing with people from multicultural backgrounds. Ability to work independently with Cross-functional team members Understanding of Product Development Principles, R&D Processes and Protocols, and PLM (system can be trained) A “Can do” attitude that does whatever it takes to get the job done. Aim for high performance and good at team development.
Relevant Experience
Post Graduate with knowledge of Science (Chemistry, material science, Bio-Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, pharmaceutical is more preferred). Prefer at least 3 years of working experiences on innovation projects.-
