Role Overview

Our consultant forms a pivotal part of F5 Networks Professional Services delivery organisation. The organization provides remote services to customers, covering the entire F5 product portfolio over a variety of environments, including private and public clouds, and enterprise data centres. The Professional Services team consists of like-minded individuals supporting each other thru collaboration, mutual mentorship, and appetite for knowledge sharing. Although highly appreciated, prior experience with F5 technologies is not mandatory.

Consultants are encouraged to perform as an independent self-starter, to work under limited instructions and to identify your own requirements to improve efficiency in successfully completing your assignments. You should be capable of building strong internal and external contacts within a team environment and able to demonstrate communication skills, analytical thinking, along with attention to detail and quality.

You will get exposure to our global customers; as such, reading, writing, and speaking English fluently is required, especially the ability to articulate technical concepts and terminology to different audiences with varying knowledge levels.

As a member of our global Consulting team, you will have access to industry-leading training facilities, hands-on labs, and an interface into a wealth of information through our Domain Specialist groups. What You’ll Do:

Deliver labour associated with custom scoped Statements of Work to F5 customers and generate Statements of Work for future delivery.

Provide technical responsibilities that may include, but are not limited to, problem identification, systems architecture definition, hardware/software specification, design, implementation, testing, client training and solution deployment.

Maintain expert level proficiency of F5 products and technologies through self-directed and formal training.

Demonstrate ability to become trusted advisor within customer environment so as to manage customer interaction and engagement, including documentation, follow-up as well as effectively lead and deliver technical workshops

Demonstrate control of engagement and develop customer confidence in F5’s ability to resolve critical issues in a timely and effective manner

Identify additional product/services opportunities within customer’s organization.

What You’ll Bring:

BS/BA degree and 8 years of relevant experience, with a focus on architecture and design of Application Delivery and Security solutions – Load Balancing, Network Firewall, Application Firewall, IP-SEC, VPN, SSL, etc.

Should be hands-on and be able to perform the role independently as well as demonstrate experience in working with a team of engineers to deliver one or several projects simultaneously.

Ability to articulate and transfer complex ideas to a wide audience through both verbal and written communication, presentation writing, and technical documentation skills.

Working knowledge and proficiency in F5 products and technologies - LTM, GTM/DNS, ASM, APM and AFM

Experience with the following eight core technical areas: (1) IDS/IPS solutions and technologies, (2) Public Clouds: AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud, (3) Virtualized and Containerized Environments: Kubernetes and Docker, (4) Configuration Management and Infrastructure as Code: Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, (5) CI/CD Pipelines and DevOps, (6) OS: Linux, Unix and Windows, (7) Network and HTTP Protocols: HTTP, TCP/IP, UDP, ICMP, MAC addresses, IP Packets, DNS, and load balancing, and (8) Scripting or Development skills: Python, Ruby, Shell, Udemy.

Certifications for one or more F5 products or security certifications (OSCP, OSWE, GIAC, CISSP, Security+, etc) is a plus.
