Job Summary

Responsible for the development and management of the rigging teams in Universal Beijing Resort. This individual is to provide rigging support to events within the resort, manage system requirements of current and future needs, upgrading of technician skill sets, with safety, efficiency, and teamwork in mind.

Major Responsibilities

Develop a team of specialist technicians with rigging skill sets to support all kinds of events within the theme park.

Ensure inventory and assets are maintained for events with redundancies in mind.

Systems specified for events are to be planned with flexibilities in mind for changes in show flow or addition of show related items.

Manage appropriation, transportation, storage, training and use of lighting and show control equipment throughout the resort and all relevant venues.

Provide information to the project team per required needs, such as asset inventories, transportation logistics, timelines, personnel, training programs, etc.

Manage daily duties, assignments, and ongoing development of rigging Team Members.

Provide scheduling support and resource allocation for rigging equipment and Team Members.

Directly ensure and maintain a safe work environment throughout Universal Beijing Resort venues for all events.

Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities.

Manage and track periodic and annual operating budgets, assets, inventories, and training programs

Ensure compliance with licensing, personnel training and facilities with regulatory agencies and maintain proper documentation.

Study of current market affairs for rigging equipment that are to be recommended for future use or upgradability in ability to support further complex events.

Perform regular quality checks of stored assets for safety, security, and compliance.

Collaborate with Entertainment Compliance Manager, Technical Team, Vendors and Authorities to develop and maintain safety and quality assurance.

Maintain a positive and dedicated team - Team bonding and team spirit are of absolute necessity.

Create and constantly work with other discipline (AV, LX/SC, rigging, etc.) in combining CAD drawings of involved events.

Performs other managing duties as assigned.

Qualifications

7 years of relevant rigging experience in the Entertainment industry.

Strong background with on the groundwork with first-hand experience in handling equipment.

Strong technical knowledge and passionate about technical aspects of rigging with ability to formulate ideas and integration between other disciplines (AV, Lighting, staging, etc.).

Preferable from an events or theatre background, with experience in major live events.

Able to operate chain motors (Chainmaster, stagemaker, etc.) and truss load bearing calculations.

Ability to draw in CAD is a must.

Able to create cue sheets and communicate with stage managers, directors, choreographers.

IRATA qualifications preferred but not necessary.

Preferably bilingual in English and Chinese.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Technical Theater or another related Entertainment Production field or 7 years equivalent work experience.

Other education or certifications relevant to the field of Rigging.
