Structural Engineer, Technical Center China

Technical Centre China is strengthening our team and are seeking a structural engineer who has a passion for the ship newbuilding industry in China.
As structural approval expert, you will be working in the hull approval team as part of Technical Centre China which is the competence hub for DNV in China where our team of highly skilled engineers providing plan approval service and technical support to our clients.
This position will be based in our Shanghai office, located in Changning district at the Hongqiao State guest hotel.
Position description
Carry out strength analysis & plan approval of hull structures of marine vessels according to relevant rules and regulations, incl. DNV rules, CSR rules, IMO IGC/IGF regulations, etc.

Position qualifications
It is desirable for the candidate to have:
Bachelor or Master’s degree in ship engineering or equivalent Young talent and fresh graduate are welcomed to apply. Experience in structural FEA and/or hydrodynamic analysis is preferred. Familiar with relevant non-liner FE tool, . Abaqus, is an advantage.Personal qualities:
Good communication skills in both English and Chinese, verbally and in writing Client service oriented, with positive and proactive attitude Self-motivated and solution oriented Ability to build trust, confidence, respect, and engage in teamwork Willingness and ability to travel within China to provide technical support on projects, customer meetings etc. Honest, open and committed to DNV’s purpose, visions and values-
