The GPL Photonics Laboratory (GPL) is a key laboratory for international science and technology cooperation in Jilin Province, China. Located in the Changchun Institute of Optics, Fine Mechanics and Physics(CIOMP), Chinese Academy of Sciences(CAS), it is mainly used for research in the fields of nanophotonics, laser-matter interactions, and advanced materials processing. The laboratory is housed in a 3-story/3,000-square meter (~30,000 square feet) state-of-the-art research building, including nearly 300 square meters of ultra-clean laboratory space.

Our lab typically has ongoing positions available at the following levels.

Successful candidates have to develop a significant independent research program with external funding, supervise graduate students, and perform service duties for the GPL.

Desired backgrounds include but are not limited to:

* Physics of photonics and wave phenomena

* Photonic crystals, metamaterials; metasurfaces, plasmonics

*Thermal radiation, radiative cooling, solar energy harvesting and thermal management, thermophysics

* Novel materials (2D materials, topological materials, bio-inspired materials, and others) for photonics

* Computational electromagnetics

* Optical and infrared spectroscopy

* Optical computing architectures and optical neural networks

* Optofluidics

* Hydrophilic and hydrophobic properties

* Laser-matter interactions and ultrafast dynamics

* High harmonic generation, terahertz generation and detection

Positions include:

* Staff members at full professor, associate professor, and assistant professor levels

* Postdoctoral fellows

* PhD students

* Interns at all levels

* Long-term and short-term visitors

Only high-qualified applicants will be contacted for interviews. These positions are available for all nationalities.
