Senior Manager, Testing/Vehicle/Retrofit Steering, Quality

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Manager to lead our cross-functional team responsible for vehicle, testing & retrofit coordination. The team also handles vehicle releases during digital and hardware testing phases, manages vehicle pooling and operations, and oversees endurance testing to ensure long-term vehicle quality. This role is crucial for the seamless operation and quality of our vehicle projects through teamwork and digital development. Your leadership will impact the innovation, efficiency, and quality of our projects, driving success in the competitive automotive industry.
Key Responsibilities: Oversee vehicle testing and retrofit coordination across R&D China. Coordinate vehicle releases during digital and hardware testing phases. Supervise vehicle pooling and operations for all testing vehicles. Responsibility for steering committees on testing, vehicle demand and retrofit demand. Lead the endurance testing team to ensure long-term vehicle quality. Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment. Objectives: Ensure timely and efficient testing and retrofit processes through teamwork. Maintain high standards of vehicle quality and reliability. Promote a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement. Drive innovation and excellence in testing, operational procedures, and digital development.Tasks:
Management (standard item for position with leading role): The management, motivation and development of staff using HR tools, founded on our mission statement & corporate values, and provision of purposeful internal communications to achieve the agreed objectives. Constantly developing team target picture in alignment with department target picture. Ensuring that the necessary training appropriate to the needs of individual employees and the tasks assigned to them is provided. Informing subordinated employees about the relevant provisions and instructing them to comply with the provisions. Ensuring that they are implemented properly. Plan, agree and manage the budget and headcount in accordance with key performance indicators. Monitor compliance with budget targets, introduce and supervise cost-cutting measures where necessary, in liaison with the line manager, and develop an awareness of costs among staff. Ensure compliance with the safety and environmental protection regulations in the borne area of responsibility.2. Coordinate Vehicle Testing and Retrofits:
Oversee the scheduling and execution of vehicle testing and retrofit activities across R&D China. Ensure all testing phases, both digital and hardware, are completed on time and meet quality standards. 3. Manage Vehicle Releases: Coordinate the release of vehicles during various testing phases. Ensure all necessary approvals and documentation are in place before vehicle release 4. Supervise Testing Operations: Oversee the pooling and operational management of all testing vehicles. Ensure vehicles are maintained and available for testing as needed. 5. Lead Endurance Testing Team: Direct the endurance testing team to ensure vehicles meet long-term quality and reliability standards. Monitor and report on testing outcomes and implement improvements as necessary. 6. Foster Team Collaboration and Innovation: Promote a collaborative and innovative environment within the team. Encourage continuous improvement and drive excellence in testing procedures and digital development. QualifikationenEducation
University degree in technical/engineering major (e.g. PhD, Master, Diploma engineer in E/E, automotive or mechanical engineering or comparable education)
Experience
More than 5 years of experience in vehicle testing, retrofit coordination, endurance or a related field. Proven experience in leading cross-functional teams and managing complex projects.Specific knowledge
In-depth knowledge of vehicle testing procedures and standards. Familiarity with digital and hardware testing phases. Understanding of vehicle pooling operations and endurance testing.
