The Vehicle Dynamics Senior Engineer is responsible for
leading vehicle dynamics development projects, coordinating advanced testing
and analysis, and providing expert technical guidance to clients. This role
requires deep expertise in chassis systems, suspension design, and vehicle
performance optimization. The engineer will work closely with clients to define
development targets, execute comprehensive test programs, and deliver solutions
that enhance vehicle handling, ride comfort, and overall dynamics performance.
Responsibilities
Main technical responsibilities:
  • Lead
    vehicle dynamics development programs from concept through validation
  • Build
    chassis and complete vehicle models
  • Perform
    virtual simulations to evaluate suspension kinematics & compliance and
    complete vehicle handling & ride comfort.
  • Optimize
    chassis parameters in order to meet performance targets
  • Coordinate
    and analyze comprehensive chassis testing including K&C measurements,
    handling evaluations, and ride comfort assessments
  • Analyze
    test data and simulation results to identify performance gaps and
    recommend improvements
  • Support
    suspension design activities and provide technical input on chassis
    component selection
To support project management and commercial actions:
  • Presentation
    of project proposals and project results to customers
  • Management
    of client communication and reporting
  • Prepare/write
    project reports and support decision making
  • Effective
    and efficient communication with Chassis managers to consolidate technical
    and commercial proposals
  • Cooperation
    and team work with technical & sales team
  • Communicate
    cross-functionally with other functional teams such as NVH, Powertrain,
    Brakes, ADAS, etc to improve the integration of driving dynamics
    requirements.
Accountable for successful program execution:
  • Manages
    and executes the program based on pre-defined technical work scope
  • Drives
    accountability and action within the project team
  • Drives
    consistently positive dynamics and interactions within the project team
  • Manages
    conflicts, deals with conflict swiftly, constructively and decisively,
    inside and outside of IDIADA, regardless of levels in the organization
Technical qualifications
  • B.S.
    or higher in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 5
    years of experience in in the automotive field.
  • Experienced
    in Vehicle Dynamics or Chassis Development engineering.
  • Desired
    experience in project management
  • Solid
    understanding of the Chassis performance development process, from target
    setting and target cascading to validation and sign-off.
  • Knowledge
    of vehicle dynamics theory and contributions from individual components—
    hardpoints, steering, springs, bars, dampers, tires, bushings, etc.—to
    suspension K&C and full-vehicle performance.

    in vehicle dynamics development
  • Good
    driving skills (certification from OEM or supplier is an asset).
