Munich Re Beijing Branch, part of Munich Re, the world's largest reinsurer, is looking for a qualified Senior Consultant, Insurance Solutions to strengthen our Greater China consultative advisory activities to primary insurers. Our ultimate goal is to provide top-notch services to our clients with a focus on enhancing Munich Re's value proposition by (primary insurance) product development, actuarial / portfolio consulting, digital solutions, data analytics and more general non-life consulting topics.

You will not only work with various departments from our primary insurance clients but also collaborate internally with underwriters, client managers, claims, SiTao innovation unit and other relevant Munich Re teams across the globe to respond to our clients' needs.

The position is based in Beijing and reports to Head of Insurance Solutions Greater China Non-Life.

YOUR ROLE
  • Leverage existing capabilities and data to provide top-notch advisory activities to our clients focusing on (primary insurance) product development, actuarial / portfolio consulting, digital solutions, data analytics and more general non-life consulting topics. Our ultimate goal is to achieve profitable business growth in line with our Ambition 2025 targets.
  • Collaborate with various departments from clients as well as with underwriters, client managers, claims, SiTao innovation unit and other relevant Munich Re teams internally.
  • Lead pitches and implement external client projects across teams.
  • Orchestrate internal business development and ensure tangible new propositions.
  • Identify China insurance market trends, client's critical needs and regulatory / policy guidance to implement external projects and prioritize internal business development.
  • Deliver a superior client experience and present results to client's (management) teams.
  • Support client management / underwriting teams in implementing client strategies and during renewal.
  • Participate in marketing activities, external events and conferences.
  • Contribute to a positive team culture and engage in team building activities.


YOUR PROFILE
  • University degree in mathematics, statistics, economics or similar field.
  • 8 to 15 years of experiences in insurance brokerage, primary insurance and / or insurance consulting.
  • Knowledge on Commercial Property, Motor and / or Marine & Energy LoBs, or Claims herein.
  • Deep understanding of primary insurance markets, in particular the Chinese market in respect of stakeholders, processes and products.
  • Excellent structuring capabilities including ability to translate analysis into presentable outputs.
  • Strong in quantitative analysis and add. actuarial / coding / geo sciences / ... certificates a plus.
  • Fluent in Mandarin and English, both in written and verbal communication.
  • Gravitas when dealing with people and in (technical) presentations.
  • Equipped with business development, client service and self-starter mindset.
  • Enjoy working in new fields and taking ownership both for external and internal work.
