The Sourcing Category Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing category strategies starting with fabricated parts (sheet metal and machining). The Sourcing Category Manager will be overall responsible for the performance of the category and suppliers in terms of contracts, lead-times, on-time-delivery, quality, and price agreements. You will work closely with cross-functional teams for risk management, supplier developments, quality improvements, cost savings, lead time reductions, and process improvements. The ideal candidate has experience managing suppliers, will possess strong analytical skills, and has a deep and technical understanding of the fabricated category they will be managing.The sourcing activities are currently executed by multiple persons in APAC. This role will be the 1st sourcing manager in APAC fully focusing on sourcing and category management. The role needs to be developed further in terms of processes, tools, templates, etc. You'll be working heavily with the local equipment team and the global sourcing and supply chain team. Responsibilities: Develop the sourcing function in APAC in terms of processes, tools, templates, KPIs, etc. Develop and implement category strategies that align with the organization's goals and objectives. Overall responsibility for the suppliers and take ownership of categories and suppliers' performance. Review, maintain and develop suppliers to reduce risks, improve quality, reduce lead-times & cost prices, and improve other service level agreements. Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure a reliable and efficient supply chain. Work closely with cross-functional teams, such as finance, engineering, quality, and operations, to align sourcing strategies with overall business objectives. Collaborate with quality teams to ensure that the goods or services procured meet the required quality standards and specifications. Detail-oriented and well organized. Self-managed and proactive. Continuous improvement mindset. Strategic and development mindset. Desired qualifications: Bachelor's degree in engineering. Excellent English in writing and speaking. Minimum of 5 years of experience in supplier management. Deep understanding of fabricated production processes (sheet metal, machining, etc.) Ability to interpret mechanical drawing packages. Strong management and collaboration skills including planning, leadership. Ability to work with various stakeholders at all levels of an organization. Deep understanding of problem-solving techniques. Computer proficiency with demonstrated experience in MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Must be able to travel within China.
