Essential Job Duties:
  • Perform assigned clinical laboratory testing accurately and in a timely manner.
    • Resolve pending tasks, check and document specimen discrepancies, and notify management when needed.
    • Prepare workstation and instruments for testing.
    • Handle specimens properly and resolve technical issues independently.
    • Operate instruments according to procedures.
    • Perform routine testing and calculations.
    • Solve both routine and non-routine assay problems.
  • Ensure test result validity through quality assurance procedures.
    • Perform experiments for new materials and summarize results for review.
    • Document quality control results and take corrective actions when needed.
    • Analyze proficiency test samples as patient specimens.
  • Handle reagents, materials, and supplies.
    • Receive, label, and place materials per SOPs.
    • Control inventory and perform quality control practices.
  • Enter results accurately and follow quality control procedures.
    • Perform peer reviews and document data entry.
    • Generate audit trails for all activities.
    • Notify management of any result discrepancies.
  • Maintain instruments and equipment per requirements.
    • Calibrate instruments, troubleshoot, and document actions.
    • Comply with guidelines and SOPs.
  • Training responsibilities.
    • Maintain up-to-date training file and complete competency assessments.
    • Assist in training new employees when necessary.
    • Attend scheduled meetings and training sessions.
  • Build partnerships with customers and clients.
    • Provide timely data for review and respond to audit findings.
    • Research and respond to inquiries promptly.
    • Understand department metrics and goals.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in computer systems and software.
  • Adhere to safety policies and guidelines.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as needed.
  • Provide activity reports to management upon request.
  • Other duties as assigned.
