Role Overview

The Account Executive, commonly known as AE, plays a crucial role in driving business growth by integrating ANSYS engineering simulation solutions into clients' engineering environments. This aids in the development of new products and enhancements of existing ones. The AE handles all sales activities within a specific geographic area or designated accounts, aiming to boost sales profitability and account expansion. The focus lies on meeting sales quota, fostering business growth, and offering the complete Ansys solution and services directly to end users.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct sales activities, build and sustain relationships with current and potential customers.
  • Retain existing business and secure new clients in an assigned area or product/service segment to meet revenue targets.
  • Deliver compelling sales presentations that showcase the value of the company's offerings, emphasizing customer needs and distinguishing from competitors.
  • Cultivate relationships with key business figures and customer executives who can advocate for Ansys.
  • Collaborate with various internal teams globally, including marketing, sales management, and technical services.
  • Create tailored proposals for customers, ensuring alignment with their needs and offering competitive pricing.
  • Develop account plans for current clients, identifying growth opportunities.
  • Provide feedback on customer preferences and product suggestions to the product development team.
  • Explore new customer prospects and gather information to assess their potential.
  • Utilize industry events and training sessions to generate new business prospects.
  • Handle administrative tasks such as order processing and data entry accurately.
  • Maintain a robust pipeline to achieve sales targets.
  • Stay informed about the company's products/services to support sales efforts.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical, engineering, business-related field with a minimum of 6 years of experience or 8+ years of relevant experience.
  • Proven track record in technical sales roles.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to work independently with occasional managerial guidance.
  • Proficiency in handling complex sales and customer challenges.
  • Effective communication and networking abilities.
  • Leadership qualities and collaborative spirit.
  • Fluency in English and the local language of the operating territory.
  • Travel requirement of up to 20% (regionally).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with the company's products, services, and pricing structures.
  • Understanding of engineering analysis and technology.
  • Knowledge of the specific territory, product line, or target customer base is advantageous.
  • Proven expertise in sales fundamentals with the ability to independently execute strategies.
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Exceptional presentation and persuasive skills at executive levels.
