Director, Business Development, GFS Asia

- In coordination with Hong Kong BD staff, Hong Kong management, and GFS management, develop relationships with key client decision makers / product teams, lead and support execution of transactions
- Establish credibility as expert on GFS solutions / recognized as GFS expert in the market
- Regularly interact with key client teams to understand key KPIs, business strategy, product strategy, pricing metrics and capital issues
- Lead and support the deal execution process and interact with Pricing, Product Development and key corporate functions
- Lead and support transactions and Business Development efforts in other key markets, including Southeast Asia and Korea
- Develop relationships with other key players in the market e.g. consultants, investment banks, industry bodies
- Ability to:
- Identify GFS opportunities for clients
- Clearly communicate concepts and solutions to clients and internal network
- Structure GFS solutions that satisfy RGA's risk and pricing frameworks
- Manage projects within internal guidelines to meet client deadlines
- Negotiate and close GFS transactions
- Develop deep understanding of RGA's risk appetite and pricing frameworks to facilitate development of executable GFS solutions that contribute to RGA's success
- Develop understanding of Hong Kong accounting, solvency and insurance and other relevant regulations
- Integrate GFS into the traditional side of the operations to leverage marketing support and expand GFS opportunities
- Establish personal brand and RGA GFS brand:
- Present at RGA client events
- Make industry presentations
- Write journal article
- Provide best in class customer service to RGA's clients
- Contribute to the establishment of RGA and GFS as a recognized provider of financially motivated reinsurance solutions throughout Asia Pacific
- Bachelor's degree
- Fellow of the Society of Actuaries or equivalent
- 10+ years of actuarial experience in life insurance and/or reinsurance and/or banking
- Experience in pricing, designing or marketing insurance business
- Financial reporting or accounting experience and/or training
- Experience in managing external (client, broker) relationships
- Experience to win and close reinsurance transactions
