Job Summary

We're seeking a highly skilled Principal Engineer, Supplier Quality Engineering to join our team. As a key member of our supplier quality engineering team, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of our electrical components. You will work closely with suppliers, hardware, firmware, and product quality and reliability engineering teams to ensure the performance of our products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of supplier quality and reliability for integrated circuit (IC), voltage regulators, electrolytic & polymer capacitor components.
  • Work with suppliers to ensure electrical component performance in WD products.
  • Review supplier DOEs and reliability data to ensure adequate quality controls.
  • Audit supplier processes.
  • Contribute to WD product failure analysis and drive supplier resolution of device failures via the 8D method.
  • Coordinate with Program Management, Design Engineering, Procurement, and Factory for successful program execution with multiple suppliers.
  • Conduct supplier quality system and process assessments and score for periodic business reviews.
  • Review supplier change notices and plan the appropriate level of qualification activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or above in a related field, such as engineering, electrical, material science, or physics.
  • 3-7 years of working experience with integrated circuit (IC), voltage regulators, electrolytic & polymer capacitor components and design and process technologies.
  • Hands-on experience in process, test, and quality.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical testing, measurement, and inspection methods.
  • Supplier process audit skills and quality system audit skills.
  • Problem-solving skills and analytical thinking.
  • Industry standards knowledge, including JEDEC, IPC, IEC, MIL, AEC-Q, and ASME.
  • Quality methodologies knowledge, including ISO9001, IATF16949, APQP, FMEA, MSA, SPC, and DOE.
