The Devices division at Roku oversees products and partnerships that drive ongoing customer acquisition. About the Role

Roku Product Operations is in search of a Technical Program Manager to uphold our stringent factory production standards. As a pivotal individual contributor, you will play a crucial role in guiding Roku's technical team in evaluating suppliers' technical capabilities, enhancing factory processes, and ensuring our products meet quality, cost, and schedule requirements. An effective TPM is an inquisitive and process-driven engineer, detail-oriented, highly communicative, and thrives on engaging directly with suppliers to tackle complex challenges across Roku's first-party products, including Set-Top Boxes (STB), Televisions, Audio devices, IoT, and Remote controls.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary technical program manager for factories and/or product lines within the Asia-based supply chain.
  • Identify and resolve technical challenges related to SMT, FATP, and/or post-launch adjustments to guarantee production quality. Ensure effective tracking, reporting, and communication of issues, impacts on supply and costs, root cause analysis, and timelines for resolution.
  • Act as the essential link between manufacturing sites, internal stakeholders, and engineering teams for factory and product-related matters. Oversee technical management throughout the entire lifecycle (NPI, Sustaining & EOL).
  • Lead initiatives for process optimization across the supply chain to enhance efficiency and cost savings while maintaining product quality.
  • Implement strategic direction, objectives, and ensure KPIs are established with suppliers to guarantee data availability for timely decision-making.
  • Promote the application of statistical tools and methodologies within supplier facilities, including statistical process control, capability analysis, gage repeatability & reproducibility (GR&R), and design of experiments (DOE).

Ideal Qualifications

  • Proven technical expertise and experience, preferably in wearable devices, smartphones, personal computers, consumer electronics, networking, or other technology sectors, with a comprehensive understanding of final assembly, testing, packaging, and SMT processes.
  • Knowledge of both Mechanical Engineering (ME) and Electrical Engineering (EE), including RF/wireless technology, enabling in-depth discussions on technical issues with engineering teams such as IE, ME, EE, TE, AME, etc.
  • Committed to employing process-driven and analytical methods for problem-solving, such as Six Sigma, 8D, FMEA, etc.
  • Experience in project management, including planning, cost management, and delivery.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to drive issue resolution in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities, utilizing structured methodologies to identify root causes and develop corrective and preventive actions.
  • Establishes formal networks to coordinate among various groups.
  • Proficient in spoken and written English, with good command of Mandarin.
  • Direct experience collaborating with product design and ME/AME design teams is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with RF & wireless technology in a manufacturing context is preferred.
  • International work experience is a plus.
