Job Summary

As a Production Planning Strategist at Corning, you will be responsible for scheduling production lines to optimize manufacturing operations and minimize costs while meeting customer demand.


Key Responsibilities

  • Schedule production lines to optimize manufacturing operations and minimize costs while meeting customer demand.
  • Collaborate with the supply chain, production, QA, and engineering teams to optimize production line scheduling.
  • Work with the commercial and logistics teams to ensure the availability of recyclable packing materials to support production line scheduling.
  • Act as a liaison between commercial and plant teams to efficiently meet customer dynamic demand on a daily basis.
  • Track compliance to schedule, identify the reasons for non-compliance, and define opportunities to improve scheduling reliability.
  • Verify capacity and capability into executable production plans/schedules.
  • Support engineering experiments, development projects, line/product qualification, and machine maintenance on production line scheduling.
  • Continuously improve scheduling tools, processes, and documentations & standardizations.
  • Prepare MRP plans, delivery schedules, and supplier performance management to align with division sourcing and inventory strategy.
  • Initiate purchase requests and track purchase orders to sustain production consumption.
  • Manage non-standard FS/FG inventory.
    Requirements
    Education and Experience

    • Bachelor's degree or above in Industrial Engineering or a related field.
    • Over 5 years of working experience in supply chain or demand-supply planning in a multinational/international company.

    Required Skills

    • Proficiency in MS package, Excel, and PowerPoint, and experience with SAP or equivalent ERP systems.
    • Good English communication skills.
    • Basic understanding of IT or LCD industry.
    • CPIM certification is preferred.

    • Knowledge of process trouble shooting, prevention, and data-driven decision making, and root cause finding.

    Salary

The estimated salary for this position is $120,000 - $160,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
