Jensen Hughes is seeking a highly skilled Fire Protection Engineer to join our Shanghai team. As a Fire Protection Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety of people and property by designing, reviewing, and commissioning fire protection and life safety systems.
Responsibilities:- Conduct design reviews and commissioning services for fire protection and life safety systems, including review of design and construction drawing submittals, verification of as-built site conditions, and development of functional performance tests.
- Apply fundamental fire and life safety engineering principles to review and create performance-based solutions to design challenges that are not addressed by existing fire protection codes and standards.
- Evaluate existing facilities for compliance with codes and provide recommendations for improvements, including site surveys and analysis of life safety systems.
- Provide engineering support to building owners for fire protection system inspection, testing, and maintenance.
- Meet client and customer needs and expectations by completing assigned tasks in a timely manner and effectively communicating with project team members, clients, customers, and others.
- Excellent report writing and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to present clear and technically sound fire protection engineering strategies and have good communication and negotiating skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, enjoy professional challenges, and desire to be an integral part of the long-term growth of Jensen Hughes.
- Ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbally, in Chinese and English.
