As a Vitreoretinal Surgical Consultant, your responsibilities will encompass:
Key Responsibilities:
Achieving Vitreoretinal Sales and Market Share Goals:
- All tasks and responsibilities outlined below are aimed at the ultimate objective of sustaining and expanding the overall Vitreoretinal and Advanced Vision System sales and market share.
Salesforce Development:
- Support the enhancement of VMs/SEMs' knowledge on Vitreoretinal and Advanced Vision System products and commercial selling techniques.
- Guide VMs/SEMs to evolve into proficient Consultants, fostering deep surgical retina expertise within the region.
- Maintain close collaboration with sales managers to align the needs of VMs/SEMs with targeted account selection.
- Work alongside VMs/SEMs to establish strategic target accounts and specific goals, including upgrades and increased utilization of advanced consumables to enhance procedural value and patient outcomes.
- Engage with targeted accounts to drive demand for Alcon's advanced Vitreoretinal and Vision System products, defend our market position, and convert competitive business.
- Act as a primary resource for VMs/SEMs during critical competitive challenges, providing deep expertise in Vitreoretinal matters.
- Collaborate with training teams to contribute as a subject-matter expert in Vitreoretinal and Advanced Vision System training sessions.
Development of Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and Local Opinion Leaders (LOLs):
- Establish and nurture sustainable relationships with KOLs and LOLs, serving as an expert resource for our advanced products.
- Encourage KOL/LOL advocacy for our current and future surgical retina offerings to safeguard and expand our business.
- Collaborate with sales and marketing to evaluate and enhance the capabilities of KOLs/LOLs, implementing improvement plans as necessary.
- Introduce new products and influence surgical techniques to align KOL activities with our marketing strategies.
- Persuade competitive KOLs to advocate for Alcon through compelling demonstrations of our product value.
- Drive healthcare professional education initiatives specific to Vitreoretinal products.
Support for Marketing Execution:
- Maintain continuous collaboration with Vitreoretinal marketing for strategic alignment.
- Serve as the voice from within the operating room to communicate competitive trends and areas for improvement.
- Assist in executing marketing plans, ensuring message consistency with KOLs and LOLs.
- Drive strategies for upgrading vitreoretinal consumables in accordance with marketing priorities.
- Support marketing in deploying effective tools to enhance competitive selling and secure existing business.
- Conduct evaluations of new products with KOLs/LOLs as directed.
- Perform post-market evaluations as required.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales or training of ophthalmic equipment, particularly vitreoretinal devices.
- Willingness to travel extensively, with a surgical attendance rate exceeding 75%.
- Proficient in professional business English.
