Job Summary

The Director of Housekeeping is responsible for managing the daily housekeeping functions and staff to ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of guest rooms, public spaces, and employee areas. This role requires a strong leader who can direct and work with the team to execute all housekeeping operations effectively.

Key Responsibilities

Managing Housekeeping Operations

  • Ensure compliance with all housekeeping policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Review staffing levels to meet guest service, operational needs, and financial objectives.
  • Supervise daily housekeeping shift operations and ensure compliance with all housekeeping policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and communicate a clear and consistent message regarding departmental goals.

Conducting Human Resources Activities

  • Use on-the-job training tools to train new room attendants and provide follow-up training as necessary.
  • Establish and maintain open, collaborative relationships with employees.
  • Schedule employees to business demands and track employee time and attendance.
  • Ensure employees understand expectations and parameters.

Ensuring Exceptional Customer Service

  • Set a positive example for guest relations.
  • Empower employees to provide excellent customer service.
  • Respond to and handle guest problems and complaints.
