Job Summary

Aptar is seeking a highly skilled Tax Compliance Specialist to join our team in China. As a key member of our Tax team, you will provide critical taxation support to our entities in the areas of tax compliance, tax accounting, tax advisory, and planning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and submit income tax returns, including liaison with external tax consultants to facilitate their review and lodgement.
  • Prepare periodic tax calculations and accounting entries, including VAT, surcharges, income tax, stamp duty, property tax, withholding tax, and proofs for deferred tax balances and tax provisions.
  • Process monthly/quarterly/annual tax filings and other statutory reporting obligations for Aptar China entities.
  • Lead and handle tax affairs related to outbound non-trade payments.
  • Assist in Transfer Pricing policy implementation and preparation of local Transfer Pricing documentation.
  • Provide support in relation to internal and external audits and tax inspections.
  • Liaise with taxation authorities to manage tax-related issues, such as tax inquiries or inspections, and report on tax-related subject matters.
  • Support the Tax Manager and Global Head of Tax in researching, analyzing, and providing recommendations on taxation risks and prevention.
  • Assist with regular updates to tax policies, procedures, and associated process maps to ensure the tax governance framework is maintained, accurate, efficient, and continuously improved.
  • Support the Global Head of Tax and China Tax Manager on ad-hoc projects and assignments as directed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Tax.
  • Preferably possess CPA or CTA.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience working for a mid-large tier accounting firm and/or a large corporate.
  • Knowledge and understanding of accounting standards, Chinese taxation, and awareness of international taxation principles.
  • Understanding of the key components of management and statutory reporting processes, as well as tax compliance processes in China.
  • Basic understanding of risk management frameworks.
  • Ability to operate an integrated accounting system effectively and efficiently (SAP preferred).
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively as a team player.
  • Intermediate/advanced Excel and basic MS Office skills.
  • Ability to identify business processes, systems, and reporting improvements.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work to ensure team goals and objectives are met.
  • Attention to detail.
